If there are more after wave 3 I'm done entirely. Having to track down the exclusives has become a massive hassle that I don't feel like going through again.

My custom made (and very basic) amiibo display. It'll look so nice when I have them all in there oh god i am actually gonna do it :(

I don't getthis sentiment. Why not just go down to your local GameStop and preorder the rest? I did this early on when finding them became tough. GS is reliable and they handle things like this well. All that's left is 3 other preorders, 2 of which were available for a while. It's easier for me if there's less people hounding these down but I think all the stress people have is self made or in the pursuit of a bargain, which is tough unless you get in on the rare Best Buy B2G1 glitch...
 
So far, I've got nine Amiibos: Mario, DK, Diddy, Kirby, Yoshi, Pikachu, Samus, Villager and Wii Fit Trainer. Goal is to get them all over time as it permits. but as always, finding anyone from Wave 2 is hard. And I can't find a Fox or Marth to save me. :/

I think the next month will be very telling as far as how the restocking of the amiibos will go. My local Best Buy's are barren wastelands and the Targets aren't much better.

It's just some wood slapped together with nails and painted black! Very simple :p

The shelves are 3/4 inches tall, 3 feet long and 3 inches deep (can comfortably hold 14 amiibos and I'll have 12 per shelf when I have them all) with 6 inches height between them. The walls were 27 3/4 inches I believe. If you have access to wood (and tools to cut it like a table saw) and drills or a staple gun to keep the pieces together, it's a pretty simple thing to build. Luckily my dad works with wood so I can use all of his tools :)
 
Managed to get my hands on Link, Zelda and Samus during the Christmas break. I'm prepared to buy a few more once I head back to Japan.

Rarity might be different in Japan, so I'll have to see if certain figures are easier to get when I get back.
 
After finishing work today, I went to EBgames to see if there was anything in store during their Boxing Week Sale. Upon glancing at their Amiibo section, I was quite surprised to see 4 Diddy Kongs on display. And with that, I purchased one of them, thus completing my collection of wave 2. Now the only ones that I am missing are the infamous Marth, Villager & WFT.

Heh, I dunno what the final order is gonna be. Right now they're all in Smash appearance order (64 chars -> Melee chars -> Brawl chars -> 3DS/WiiU chars) but of course it's subject to change. I'll worry about that when I have em all :p

Don't worry. Best Buy is following some weird "street date" they have set in stone. A few weeks ago, when Wave 2A came out. I placed an order for some from Wave 1 and some from Wave 2A in one order.. went to pick it up and they brought out my Zelda, then said.. oh wait we can't release that yet..

So they have them in store, just wont put them out on the shelf or release the order. But it was there.. 1 week early sitting in a basket behind customer service.. picked up the following week.

I have my Wave 2b all waiting for me at Best Buy..

I live in Australia.

I was lulled into a false sense of security when I saw all the craziness about Marth, Villager and Wii Fit Trainer in this thread, then went out to buy some amiibo's and saw plenty of all three of them (ended up buying Kirby, Yoshi and Samus that trip).

Then two weeks later and half the retailers here have none at all, and the other half just have Pikachu and Mario.

Managed to buy a Zelda and Little Mac from EB Games online thankfully.

I'm going out shopping tomorrow so I'll see how stock is going, if it's still dead I'll be browsing some import sites.

Well if you are importing I heard Nippon-Yassan is cheaper than Play-Asia, but I haven't used neither.
 
Was using my Captain Falcon Amibo in game today when I had 2 other buddies over. Was a lot of fun since he changed up how we usually play in FFA ended from him being 0 to 36. Will see where he goes when we get him to 50.
 
so I am based in Germany and I am helping out a couple of Gaffers here sending them amiibos to America.

thing is, I am going to the store tomorrow and will change a Pit for a Wii Fit Trainer.

So since I am heading to the store and I already have one a Marth without an owner, I thought I'd ask here if anyone is interested in getting a 4 amiibo package sent to them from Germany?

So the chance of me getting a Villager in North America without paying an insane amount is non-existent, right?

I want one to actually use, not just have unopened. I'm kicking myself for not buying one when I saw one the week they came out now.

Define "Insane Amount". There's a Japanese one on eBay for 32$ right now. Since you want to open and don't care about the package, that's probably the best you're gonna do. Just remember to search for "murabito"

how are you guys in America buying stuff from Amazon.de? I just checked and out of the rare 3 wave 1, only WFT is sold directly from amazon and they'll charge you a whooping 36 euros (US $43.85 dls at least) to send it to the US, not to mention it would be sent past January the 5th. I guess it's a better deal if you buy two of them?

villagers and Marths are as of right now from third parties that would have to charge even more for an international package.
