No. I just posted above that Future Shop in Canada will be shipping them out early next week. Likely the first to ship them out in North America.

I got a call from GS saying something like

"We see here that you have 1 or 2 or 3 amiibos preordered with us, we just wanted to let yo0u know about the mario party amiibos where they will have toad amiibos yoshi amiibos".... etc etc.

By the end of the message I bet she wanted to kill herself after saying amiibo so much.

Can't imagine having to call so many people who had preordered amiibos with that message

They really hate it because a lot of the time you can't put up "home made" signs as it's against the cohesion of the stores and is "impersonal". So you have to put up with it. Every. Day. It really sucks.
 
I'm guessing profit is $2 per figure. $3 for TRU since they charge $1 more.

Considering the discount TRU gave to everyone who had cancelled pre-orders before had them for $11 rather than $14, you have to think they were probably selling them at cost.
 
Best Buy just sent me an order update with release dates for amiibo:

February 13th
Sonic

February 20th
King Dedede
Mega Man
Ike

I'm gonna need someone to pick these up since I will be out of town.

Still nothing about Meta Knight and we didn't get any shipment on the truck last night.
 
So what's going on with Gamestop?

I have Shulk, Ike and Sonic all preordered on Gamestop.com and I have King Dede and Megaman preordered in store at a local Gamestop. I haven't received an email as of yet - I guess that's a good thing?

Makes sense actually. Probably $5 to make + $3 to ship.
Although I am curious if other retailers buy Amiibos for $10 and TRU is $11 so that is why they charge more.

Right, mine was ship to home. Ironically, I decided at the last moment, right before I pre-ordered to have it shipped to home instead of picking up in store...

Third party wholesale cost is slightly right under $10 per figure, I'm sure larger buyers like Best Buy and Amazon pay closer to $9.

Ship to home seems bad, ship to store seems okay. Preordered in store seems to be fine as well.

Priority seems to be in store . ship to store . ship to home. People doing ship to home seem to get hit with delays.

Luckily, I collect video games, so that prevents me from going much further. I top out on getting figures for characters I love. Most I spent on a figure was for the RAH Link, roughly $200 I think.
 
Just got off the phone with Gamestop to check on my orders.

Shulk and Ike are supposed to be available on the 13th according to the rep.

Sonic is on the 20th.

Both Ike and Sonic are in-store pickups for me. Shulk is going to be shipped to me.

On the 13th I'll be heading to a few stores at opening, or soon after, for N3DS and possible Amiibo releases. I'll prob get to a Target at opening since they open at 8 and then at I'll go to BBY or GameStop depending on my success at Target, and then go to wherever else after that. Because of my work schedule, that's really the only day I can do an "at opening" arrival. I won't be doing any camping though, just arriving a few min before opening.

You can get a free Skull Kid with a 3DS and MM from the UK Nintendo store.

Also this is a Nintendo UK offer not a Nintendo of Europe offer. Since we're just a small part of Europe it's more like when the Nintendo Store in New York gets an exclusive. The rest of Europe doesn't benefit from this.

Also I could easily list ways NoA > NoE. Grass is always greener…

None of those reasons would include the Operation Rainfall games though. Which is still my measure of judgement.
