Hmm, I'm not sure if I understand you there. Are you saying that we should present ourselves and list the amiibo that we don't have but we only able to participating one of amiibo lottery, is that right?

Hmm, that sound fun. It's a shame that I didn't manage to get more Lucario Amiibo yesterday since a gang of 4 people actually preordered 5 lucario each, and there are other people too. I was lucky enough to grab last one tho.

I'd be fine with this, but people who aren't experienced with 9.0 classic might not be. And if you don't do 9.0 you won't have a chance of winning.

But that requires opening the amiibos, and quite a few people like to keep them sealed. Not that there's anything wrong with doing a giveaway only for people who like them opened, just pointing it out.

To some extent, yes. Like, if you guys were giving away Pit, Captain Falcon, and Sheik, I'd want to enter to win Pit, but not Falcon or Sheik since I have Falcon & I don't care for Sheik that much. So I'd just mention I already have Falcon but not Pit or Sheik.

Basically, if you don't have the amiibo, then it's fine to enter. If you already own it, then you can't enter. If there's multiple amiibo on the line and you don't own all of them, then just enter for the ones you don't have.

as a Canadian I think it's fair to ask to pay for shipping. Though I'd appreciate the option to have you open it and ship it loose, would be cheaper that way.... If of course the winner was fine with that.

So in other words, without the box? I guess if the winner was fine with that. I just do my best to package an item & ship it via USPS so it arrives safely as possible, and it seems most people here would want it still in the box.

Added myself to the list. I don't have faith that when they come up for pre-order that I'll be able to score one.
 
Which american shipping company would be cheap to go with? Last time I had to send out 3 Amiibo. It cost me nearly 20 dollars just for few states away.

Are you still doing that contest? I lost track this (er...that) thread moved so fast. I'd like in. And would pay for shipping it to me still in package. That's how my son has been collecting them and it's for him so...

I should clarify, I'd be in for Rosalina.

Went into a GameStop to try to preorder Shulk, he told me they weren't taking anymore preorders. He also said they were told the next wave would be out tomorrow but they haven't received any yet, and they expect angry/disappointed customers. Let me give you my money Nintendo, please!

I'm hoping so, yes. I'm heading in tomorrow to see if I can nab one. If not, I'm seeing if I can work something out so a member can either send me one, or I can send them the money to pay for it, then they can ship it from their place.

If they do a limit of 1 per customer, anyone going to multiple Targets? Just found it out there's a Target 5 min from my job so that's where I'm going after work, then there's another one in my way home and probably going there too.

Sorry, were kinda swamped today. And yeah obviously YMMV, but if you call and inform the manager about it, theyll take measures to help you out. No manager wants their stores to be shopped at be only scalpers and piss off people who could be recurring guests lol

As for me? Well I got pretty damn disheartened when I just missed out on Lucario. Rosalina as far as I know will have more stock, but I really don't want to go through being too late again...
 
Might go out to Target tomorrow but Rosalina will probably be sold out by the time I wake up and feel like dragging myself out to one so we shall see.

No, the amiibos that would battle it out would be MY amiibos... not the ones that are being given away.

Here is what I'm thinking (I just sent this to Mononoke). I hope I'm explaining well.


So, we have Modbot pick 16 people. Those 16 people get entered in a tournament. Those 16 people pick ANY amiibo that they want as long as it's one that has come out. Then, I use my own amiibos in Smash Bros. (I'd erase them all back to level 1 to make it fair). So, let's say contestant 1 picks Peach and contestant 2 picks Kirby. Peach beats Kirby, so that means whoever picked Kirby is out and whoever picked Peach still has a chance to win! I was thinking the winner would get one amiibo.

BUT, if we have 16 amiibos to give away, maybe all 16 people could win an amiibo... but maybe whoever gets 1st place would get first pick. 2nd place gets 2nd pick...all the way down to the poor person who gets 16th place and gets stuck with a Pikachu or something (but at least they still get something).

I really like that idea, pete. Sounds rather fair, but still really fun.

Edit: Maybe I'll contact MADGAME & see if he wants to throw his Fox in for that. That way, I can focus on Rosalina & you have one more amiibo to give away.

Yeah, when I came back I expected a ton of success stories on Lucario but it sounds like almost everyone struck out and went home empty handed. I think I remember only seeing a few people post pictures afterwards.

The only problem is that it might be super boring to watch two Level-1 amiibos duke it out!
Plus, I don't have a way to stream from my Wii U. Like someone mentioned earlier, it would be fun for everyone to be able to watch the tournament as it unfolds.

Hey, as someone who doesn't have Pikachu, I'm fine with that. & if it's one I'd already have, I'd gladly pass the prize onto someone who doesn't.

Assuming we only do ONE tournament....basically it would go like this:

Step 1: Figure out how many amiibos we have to give away. As that will determine how many contestants we will need.

Step 2: Organize the modbot raffle, have it draw all the winners at random who gets to join the tournament.

Step 3: Have the actual tournament. We use your already open Amiibos to do this.

Step 4: The results of the tournament will determine who gets to pick first from the prize pool.

The number of contestants entering can't go past the number of amiibos we have giving away. The final rankings from the tournament determines who gets to pick first (you can only pick ONE amiibo from the prize pool).

That sound right?
