Amiibo Thread 3 | Where release dates are made up and preorders don't matter!

Happy to get an order in for Toon Link and Bowser from target.com.

If I can ever find a Sheik i'll probably just stop there.

brickseek is real time updates, however i have no idea how date based items work. i can confirm that literally as soon as target gets something either on truck or from ups mid-day, it becomes in stock on brickseek

Me too! It says that it's processing now and I should have it between this Wednesday (02/04/15) and next Monday (02/09/15)! Woo hoo!
 
Are people having trouble finding Bowser and Toon Link? They had a shit ton of them at TRU last week, and even a couple days ago. And I think Target is supposed to get them tomorrow.

In fact, most NA stores tomorrow are ONLY getting Bowser, Toon Link (very few Shiek) and then Rosalina at Target only.

Would be crazy if GS/BB/TRU and Target didn't even have Bowser or Toon Link in store tomorrow....

Not bad for randomly finding them available before work one morning

Honestly think Lucario and Shulk will be the rare ones. No way is Nintendo going to short ship and discontinue someone from Mario

When Nintendo inevitably does real Pokemon amiibos, Lucario will get a reissue. Possibly in a different pose, possibly as a shiny variant or maybe a "mega" edition, but he's too popular a mascot character to leave limited edition. I suspect Shulk will never get a reissue. Could see Rosalina get a reissue as a part of the SMB Line.
 
Well Im ready to stake out Target in the morning for Rosalina. Is Meta Knight confirmed to be at Best Buy in the morning or is it delayed?

They're also available on Amazon.com for ~$35 shipped (can't link it atm, just search 'mayflash gamecube adapter')

Should be quicker to ship that way. Might be pricier though.
 
Any word on then if Shulk is actually coming out tomorrow on the East Coast? Nearest Gamestop said no shipment came, but to come by tomorrow >:v
 
With the Rosalina situation cleared up in Canada, Target getting nothing and TRU not getting stock in on weekends, I can just breathe a temporary sigh of relief and not have to scurry to every store in the city tomorrow.

Good luck to US Amiibros tomorrow. Remember the C.I.S.O.R list as well.

Personally I think any character who will be utilized in a game will get a reissue of some kind (maybe not this specific Smash Bros. branded one but yeah). Bundling a game like Xenoblade with a Shulk amiibo is a pretty easy way for Nintendo to make a collector's edition for not a lot of production cost on their end. Also, for Shulk specifically I think GameStop will find a way to get them reissued, since they facilitate reprints quite a bit for rare/desirable games already.

Word is that the Meta Knight amiibo will be coming out on February 28th but some of us will be heading to Best Buy tomorrow morning anyway (myself included) to double-check.

The Shulk amiibo is confirmed to come out on February 13th.
 
I am getting my Lucario from the TRU site shipped as well. I already got mine by lining up in store. I will hold on to it for trading purposes if I miss one of the upcoming ones.

Oh, yeah, Xeneoblade is coming to the 3DS. When I thought about no reissue, I was thinking he wouldn't see anything because X is a whole different thing. It's possible. Has any Amiibo compatibility been announced for Xenoblade 3DS? It's out pretty soon in Japan, is it not?

I got an email from BestBuy that they just got my Sheik but nothing about Metaknight or so. I presumed that it got delayed.

The TRU email cheered me up big time. The weather not cooperating is a real bummer. I'm thinking about calling around my local Target stores and seeing if they will hold one for me until Monday because the weather will probably prevent me from going.

And of course who knows if Best Buy is really going to have Sheik for me

I don't think anything's been announced but I'd imagine it'll have some sort of amiibo compatibility since it's the flagship (and first) New 3DS exclusive game.

Got my Toys R Us order confirmation emails too. I'll be excited to see them ship.

And my local Target opens at 8 AM, so I'm off to bed now. Best of luck to everyone else who's going on the hunt in the morning!

I've seen a sea of Bowers and no Toon Link. Granted I only checked TRU and Frys. I'm hoping I can grab a Toon Link at Target tomorrow. I have one from Best Buy on the way, but I don't trust them when it comes to packaging.
