At my Houston Target... here's the scene:

rgWJ0FKl.jpg

Everyone seems cool.

Scalper written all over him

I can't believe the target by my house had a few Rosalinas. Just picked up two. Not sure if they had any more cause there was only 1 box of 4 of them out at the counter.

Nintendo: Disappointing children one Amiibo at a time.

Seriously, I went to the Target near me -- was in line with a couple guys (one even had an employee put a figure under the counter with his name on it on Thursday) -- when we get in, nope, sorry we have none to sell. They're all reserved. Not one. Not Toon Link -- reserved. Not Rosalina -- reserved. Nothing.

I made it to another Target and they said they sold out in 5 minutes. And, I'm in a good size city ... it's just ridiculous.

Congrats to everyone who got them, but I'm going back to just getting Skylanders for my step-daughter. NOA is just so unbelievably mismanaged right now. Three waves and they couldn't figure this out?

Reserved, really?

Did you call for the floor manager or some other authority? That sounds incredibly suspicious to me.

Glad I have two ordered from Amazon.ca so I don't have to worry about this mess

Mess mostly being the weather out, seems like the hunting is going well.

I'm glad that I'm successful with my mission today, and everyone were pretty nice and awesome except three people.

We had a long line so nearly everyone were staying in the line, however three guys decided to break out of lines and run toward to electronic department so they were trying to buy out all stocks.

Target workers told them that they are selling only one per customers. There is 40 years old guy threw hussy fits because he can't get more than one Amiibo. I'm glad that they stood their ground against him because everyone were very happy to have amiibo at the end.

They done great job which is way better than most of TRU disasters.

Got there about 10 minutes before opening, there was like 8 people there. Now this is a target that's in a well populated area, but the next Target is about 40 miles away. So you can see why anyone can be bervous. By the time they opened, maybe like 4 or 5 more people came. When they opened it was like pac-man without the ghosts. People speedwalking through aisles where they couldn't get through and going through the checkout station. I was laughing on the inside. I just walked casually with another chill guy.

We all get back to the electronics section and they had only had 4 on the shelf (oh no!). But the guy said there's a lot in the back and he'll come back with a box with 4 smaller boxes all with Rosalina. Got one! And it sounded like he said there was at least another box of 16 left in the back. He even had more than enough left to put more on the shelf.

All of the employees there had no idea that people were going to go gah gah over Rosalina, and didn't know she was exclusive there. So all in all, it was fun and a load off my shoulders.

Forgot to mention that I got emails from TRU for Lucario saying the order was processing. I ordered two because they had cancelled that one order and I ordered again, but then they reinstated. Just kept both orders to have a double chance of getting. If I get two shipped to me, I will help an Amiibro in this thread out. Don't PM me just yet. Will likely hold a lottery or something once I have the extra in hand.

Anybody going to Gamestop today? An employee told me a few weeks back to come on the first to see if they had extra Shulk. Is this correct or is Shulk preorders coming later in the month?

Well the people in front of us are talking about how bad scalpers are so hopefully this is a good sign. The line has gotten longer tho so here's hoping things stay civil.

I went to the Manchester Target in CT and they had no stock. The Windsor store has some left, but limited to one per person

Pleasure meeting you and fellow amiibros in Manchester today! We ended up in New Britain where they got about 40, a guy in front of us bought 8 but we were each able to get one luckily.

Spoiler:
She's fabulous!

Haha, but really was nice seeing a bunch of level headed people from our amiibo community today. Happy Amiibowl everyone!

Reserved, really?

He said it was all online reserves and "card" reservations, except, I don't think they ever had a reservation card for her. And, he was the manager of the department. Everyone was pissed.

Managed to get a Rosalina; Target had 10, so they seemed easily available. I wanted to buy three to surprise some peeps with one, but I was only allowed to buy one. Bummer, but oh well.

No they did not. And online reserves at target can not be picked up in store they ship to your house, something shady going on there friend...

Don't worry you'll get one I have hope.

I still can't beleve NOA hasn't changed their tune what a wasted opportunity for money.

No one else bought a damn thing at target so it's not like this helped target at all either

Hark... I come to regale the fellow amiibo enthusiasts with a story of my encounter with the heralded Rosalina and Luma. It is a tale of wonder, a tale of suspense, and a tale that eventually happened only in about 20 minutes, but that's a detail that's not worth getting too hung up over.

Last night was a bit of a toss-up for me, as I tried to wager going out into the elements and the uncertainty of the storm for a chance at a Rosalina. On the one hand, amiibo; on the other, biting cold and car-sliding ice. I figure I would wait until morning to make my final snap decision and choose my fate, letting myself slip into sleep's warm embrace for the time being. Winter Storm Linus was proving to others that it was not to be trifled with, so why tempt the fates with the strains of capitalism?

Upon the dawn at a crisp 7:30 AM Eastern time, I am roused from my slumber for a weather report. The... the system... It has spared us! Only granting a small dusting of powder and holding off the remainder of its brunt 'til the destinies of man are brought to fruition! Gleefully I sprung from my place of bedding and hurried in the preparations. Extra clothes to stave off the squalls ahead, a quick round of oral hygiene for human interaction, and the ice scraper. Ahhh, my friend of friends, to chip away at the tinny, tiny coating of cold shielding my car. Winter has not had the last laugh yet, but I was well on my way to obtaining the fabled Rosalina amiibo.

But what, my wallet! Bereft of funds and cast empty, it was. My mind raced to think of a solution. The nearest ATM... I must utilize its services! TO THE SPEEDWAY!

With 5 minutes before store opening, I arrived at the desolate gas station. One fellow patron was in the parking lot, locked away inside his truck. His disinterested stare betrayed a glint of curiosity as I walked by; could he be wondering what I, too, was doing at this same facility so early in the day? I had no point or purpose to engage him in his query, though, for I had business to attend to, and apparently so did he because he drove off as soon as I went inside. So that plot thread went nowhere.

The mood turned into a noir as I slipped through the convenience store. I knew where the ATM was. I had never used it before, but still, there it was. Beckoning me. Requesting me. My fingers perched on top of the buttons. I danced its dance. The flight of numbers was making it dizzy but still I pressed. The frenzy of motion was too much for the machine. It begins to vomit cash. I collect my prize, my hands working too feverishly amongst the grain of pressable surfaces. Cash and receipt in hand, I move back out into the cold. Now only 4 minutes before Target's opening.

---

Delicately poised like cranes in a bamboo pond, a host of other amiibo hunters that I honestly could not count had gathered and were eagerly lined up like the Nintendo Rockettes. I took my place in the chorus line with only 2 minutes remaining. I could hear in their discussions their joys, their concerns, their anger towards scalpers and scalping in general. There were laughs shared, there were dreams made, there were memories to be swept under the rug by the uncertainty of the event that was yet to occur. Amazingly, one of my old college friends was amongst those present; our interests and meeting coincided in the two of us getting to catch up a bit over the thread we did not know we shared - little Nintendo figures.

Suddenly, an event - the lights above us turned on.

A hush crawled over the attendance.

An employee walked to the door in slow-motion.

The key was turned.

The automatic doors were not activated. A second employee emerged from the shadows like a ninja. With a Target representative on either side, they manually pulled the doors open.

It was, as they say, 'go time.'

In a unified line, the herd marched triumphantly past the two completely oblivious hired hands. Worming their way past the registers, we all were as one - a cohesive unit, of one mind and many bodies, reaching a strange, melodic harmony as our feet bounced against the tiled floor of the main thoroughfare. To the electronics department we went, with forward-pointed eyes and upwards-raised hands. At the main counter we stood, each taking their place in the crowd as they arrived until all were present. And that was when the magic started.

To put it simply, the employees behind the counter MADE IT RAIN. There was a plethora of Rosalina the likes of which I never would have been able to imagine, having been around at the time of the great Target preorder famine. There were plenty for all who came, like a Thanksgiving buffet for family members who had not eaten in days. To the left was a collective of other Wave 3 amiibos, handsome Bowsers and stalwart Toon Links. The Toon Links disappeared amongst the ether of bodies immediately, but I was able to grasp a Bowser too. Then she descended into my hands. Rosalina. And Luma, but you don't hear people getting upset about him. The host dissipated, each departing with their magical prize. Two amiibos in my own grasp. I looked at my car clock. It read 8:15. It was already decreed at this point that today would be a good day.

Yeah, it's somewhat upsetting to know that there's a person like that in close proximity. Was hoping my location was somewhat quiet on that front. On the plus side, I did meet a couple of cool collectors/fans while waiting on line for the 20 minutes or so.

I didn't have the nerve to ask if anyone was a Gaffer...
As I was posting updates about my store some kid in front of me said "Let me see how Gaf's doing". He saw my post about the location and then he went up to every person asking who was from Gaf. I didn't admit to it because I didn't want to chat to be honest it was too cold lol

I was just about to say. Online never had in store pick up as far as I knew and they never made it so you could reserve in store. They know it. Either they sell it or you'll report their ass. Say it to them lol

Man, I totally would have tried to go over his head. Sorry to hear about your situation. What a bummer.

my Target had nothing

Only Amiibos they had left at all were Marios
Employees said that their last shipment was last week, and they didn't get anything new for electronics department since then

sadface

Target in Fairfax VA was telling people they had 20 Rosalinas coming in. They got 9. Only 8 people in line so it was cool. I had asked the employee about shiek after he asked if their were other characters people wanted and the dude walked the box to the front of the line meaning I didn't get one. They had gotten 4 in. Oh well got Rosie.

haha WHAT, only one store in boston errr close to boston , Everett had 50, yes 50 (the woman was serious/heard it from another target)and they all sold out by 8:30 am, i assume a scalper bought like 10+

this other target near rhode island has a few boxes left , so basically 8-12

i give up, please dont make pac man or ness a retailer exclusive :/

He said it was all online reserves and "card" reservations, except, I don't think they ever had a reservation card for her. And, he was the manager of the department. Everyone was pissed.

There is no such as card reservation for Rosalina Target. I shopped there all of times at few different locations. I never saw any reservation cards, and no one ever took picture of it in any last two threads.

I'm pretty sure that online store don't have any reservation feature since they are only shipping to your home location.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I think they want to keep Amiibo for themselves.

Got my Rosie from Germany and she is a beaut! Box and figure in perfect condition. Well worth the few extra bucks to avoid scalpers and today's madness.

Unfortunately, my Bowser arrived from Gamestop and his face has red paint specks on it. Looks like freckles. He seems to be a common, so I will probably just replace him.

Might be a good chance in the Chicagoland area. It's snowing like crazy and there's no one on the roads.
Awesome. Good luck. If you do get it, a fellow amiibro would definitely appreciate it. (hopefully it won't have to be me haha. 2 hours left.. The suspense!)

Thanks, much appreciated!
No problem

Man, I totally would have tried to go over his head. Sorry to hear about your situation. What a bummer.
Go for store manager?

How fucking sad. I'm on overtime now and took my lunch break now and can't imagine how much my time and effort would be wasted to do this for profit.

One per customer and that's it...

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention. The suspected scalper kept going on about "John," saying "More power to him," and stuff like that. I just shook my head. Yeah, more power to that homophobe.

Wife went to one store and I to another. I arrived at 7:40 and there was an off-duty Target employee waiting in line since 7am for her 12 yo so. By 8am there 5 people in line but the staff reported that they recieved 40 units Of rosie. 4 of toon link, 4 of shiek, and 20 bowser. Very organized walk into the store. Manager let everyone in line get 2 rosie but advised electronic to limit one per go8ng forward.

Wife's store recieved 14 rosie. 4 people in line at 8am.
