Amiibo Thread 3 | Where release dates are made up and preorders don't matter!

The employee volunteers to check the boxes again. Yep. They only have Bowser remaining. Guess I'm going home. I miss my exit, diverting me towards Hurst, TX.. I check google maps and there's a Target 2 miles away. 3rd time's the charm, I tell myself.

3. Hurst, TX 8:45 - No one in electronics... The amiibo section has 7 Bowser, and no other wave 3. An employee shows up at the counter, and she confirms that there's nothing else. She said they had 12, and that the line started forming at 2 in the morning. I told her about the poor guys at my store who waited for nothing.. She then let me know that North Richland Hills just up the road got 50 Rosalinas.

4. North Richland Hills 9:00 - A customer is buying amiibos at the electronics counter.. But it's just 2 bowsers.. not a good sign. Employee confirms that's all that is left. He said that they had gotten only 30 Rosalinas, but 50 total of wave 3.

No metas at BB here. Girl at the store said they were all used for preorders and that the next shipment they get will be as well.

pick ups today included rosie, shiek, toon link, and bowser
 
Target in Issaquah, WA has 12 left. I didn't line up, just went in around 8.20 and asked for one and a toon link. He said there was a line though. Place was empty. They had bowser too...no sheik though

So is Best Buy not getting meta knight today?

Edit: forgot to mention as I was leaving, someone called about rosalina and the employee said he could set aside one for them all day :/

I already had $40 worth of stuff in my cart for free shipping and had updated my shipping info yesterday in case Rosalina came back. Now I don't feel so bummed that I didn't venture out in the snow and cold.

Now I'm just going to worry that they'll cancel it until Rosalina ships, lol.
 
Well fuck, wife is out with the credit card, can't order her lol. Hopefully this is a sign that she might not be super impossible to get and that they might get restocks. Looking through the thread it seems like I was one of the very few people that wasn't able to get one.
 
Grabbed another Rosalina online, maybe I'll be able to trade one for a Meta Knight or Lucario... if not I'm sure I'll open her at some point.

Actually had a pleasant experience. Store opened at 8, I got there around 7:20, no line, so I went to the convenience store across the street and got a coffee. Came back, there were a couple people in line so I joined them at line position #3. Everyone turned out to be friendly, so we chatted about these ridiculous toys we're all here waiting for in the freezing cold. Few more people showed up, including an elderly couple who apparently went to the other Target in town first but left because the line was too long.

Brisk walk back to the electronics section, the lady there informs us it's a limit of one of each character per customer, so we all get Rosalinas. There were a couple Toon Links and several Bowsers, but only two Sheiks (!) so I didn't have a shot at her (I was only really there for Rosalina but would have probably picked up Sheik if the opportunity presented itself).

So yeah. No fighting, no scalpers. Just a short wait in the cold and I got my one Rosalina to open and use. And then I got some donuts. S'pretty good.
 
I didn't think Sheik would be so rare. I left the first Target this morning seeing two of her next to all the Rosalinas.
 
Even though I think everyone who was first in line got what they wanted, I still can't believe that kid sprinted through the store to beat us to electronics. The worst part is that his dad was with him (kid was probably 14) and had no problem with it.

What are you teaching your kid? "Sure son, I know you really want that thing, so go ahead and forget people who waited longer than you, as long as you are happy!"
 
copped mines at Vacaville, CA Target. the dude in front of me seemed to be in the know with all the amiibo stuff, i think he was a gaffer, if so thanks for talking to me because the dude behind me was kinda annoying me (i was wearing a beanie and possibly reeked of whiskey)
 
Anyone try to order more than one online? I ordered one as an extra but I hope they are not allowing people to order 50 of them. You know who.

I bit the bullet and ordered a US Sheik for $23 on Ebay. that is probably the best deal that I am going to find. Usually don't like overpaying but it wasn't too bad
 
Now I'm starting to hope we'll be able to order Shulk online as well. If our Target orders go through, it seems like this has been handled MUCH better than TRU & Lucario.

I was pretty deep in the line, they said shiek wasn't available and they magically brought out four of them when I was at the register. I was able to get one of each and one extra rosalina for my friend.
 
I got a Rosalina with my Toon Link this morning.

But I don't give a shit about Rosalina, I do care about Fox and Sheik!

Anyone wanna trade?
 
I was able to get 2 extra Rosalina this morning, as well as I just bought 3 online just now.

So that is 5 Rosalina Extras for this community.

Long story made short: about 10th in line at 745, guy in front of me gets last Rosa, I want to ask if any more in back (always ask!), employee brings out 4 boxes, I nab a Sheik and Rosa.
