Wow. So I drove to the Target that had Falcon on launch day and there was a 30+ people line 40 minutes before they opened. So I hauled ass to a different target. Same deal. So I hauled ass AGAIN to yet another Target.. This one didn't have as big of a line and I was able to grab two Rosalina Amiibo. (One fer the collection, and one fer repainting.) neither of these Targets had Link or Shiek, so I checked out about 3 walmarts (not jack shit at any) and 3 more targets and a Frys. One of the Targets had two Rosalina left, which I was about to buy fer GAF peeps, but just as I was about to pay a few kids ran up and asked fer Rosalina, so I just let them have them. Later, I walked into my local Best Buy and they had none out, but when I asked about any in the back, they had gotten their shipment! So today I grabbed 2 Roseys a Toon Link and a Shiek. Awesome!
BTW; we're painting her dress red, if anyone wants dibs PM me. Our repaints don't look all globby and shitty like 99.9% of the repaints out there.

I must have missed it but I was going through my emails and Future Shop sent me an email earlier this week that my Meta Knight order will be released on February 28th.

There's grown adults lining up in front of a store for hours to get a friggen $12 toy and you think someone getting fed up with it is sad? I'd say your the sad one.
So, i have an awesome story to share from today. I got to my target around 7am, and only had a couple of other cars around. Eventually, after a few more rolled in, one person finally went to wait, and then we all exited and decided it was time to form the line. Everyone was super nice, though a few seemed like they were gunning to get a few Rosalinas, but no one seemed like they would get more then 3 at most, so no crazy shit.
Well, the guy ahead of me in line, name was Rob, and i got talking about anime and Smash mains, and we both kind of hung at the store chatting a bit. The Target i was at was great. Every amiibo they got in was on the counter, they kept a line, 1 per customer, and checked you out right there at electronics, so everyone was happy.
So after this, we decided to head to another Target to hopefully nab one extra for whatever purpose, and manage to do well at that Target as well, so now we were content, and this guy knew i was killing time before i went to meet with some friends, so he invited me over for some Smash. We hung out for a couple hours talking fighting games and anime, and it was super great. Before i left, he asked how much i wanted Little Mac, which kind of threw me off, since we had only talked about holes in our collection for a minute or two. I tell him he is my sought after figure, such on, and he reaches into a case he has, and pulls out an open one. He says "Throw me what i paid for it, and its yours. I've had an extra for a bit, but i'd rather it go to someone super passionate then just hang on to it, i've got good trade fodder already".
So, not only did i make an awesome new friend today, I FINALLY GOT LITTLE MAC, FOR RETAIL PRICE!
Seriously, this is the best day i've ever had with Amiibos. I'm so happy right now.
Great story, thanks for sharing. It's the stories like this that keeps my faith amongst all the scalper shit.

Meh, most people don't really care. Although, sometimes people are just curious if it's for you or for someone else.
It's kind of uncomfortable sometimes, especially since I love Skylanders and then on launches there's mostly kids and their parents lol. At least Amiibo kind of have a universal appeal since they're Nintendo.

In SeanR1221's defense amiibo acquisition seems to be getting more and more difficult as time goes on. You either refresh at the right time and get a preorder, wait in line at 6AM, or are at the mercy of scalpers, having to pay potentially 4-5 times the amount you would normally. This is becoming ridiculous(if it already wasn't).
So yeah, other people can definitely ruin it for you.
It's the whole culture to it. The lining up, the hoarding, the botched pre-orders, the frenzy. I'm just sick of it to be honest.
I don't have time to deal with it. I canceled my Best Buy Pre-orders (and my Lucario order) and when the Toon Link and Bowser come in from Best Buy I'll probably just return them.

What's up with Best Buy in NYC? My brother went this morning at opening looking for Sheik and possibly Meta Knight (wasn't expecting anything though) and a rep told him that 1. They only had Bowser, 2. Sheik was a Toy 'R' Us exclusive (lol wut) and 3. They had no idea when they were getting Meta Knight in.
I actually gave them a call so I could talk to a rep and ask them to check the SKU for Sheik in the system. I was told that, right now, no Best Buy stores in NYC had any in stock or in transit.

I just got back from the store on 215/5th trust me that site is wrong nothing is left which means i'll most likely never get one since I cannot be at opening on sundays ever.

You're probably right and he was just making small talk. I guess I was projecting my own insecurities about buying these things on to him. I do feel though like I need to borrow a kid next time I go out on an Amiibo hunt to avoid any further questions. lol
I noticed something similar with Sheik the other day. Even though one of her eyes is mostly covered, they still painted it on. You can see it if you hold her to one side. I thought it was a nice detail.
I'm rather surprised at my Meijer. They were the only place where I saw Cap. Falcon & they had Bowser first, plus pegs & labels all ready for the Wave 3 characters (though only about 2 or 3 Bowser left this morning).
I don't even bother checking Walmart now.
Sorry, I should clarify that I got Sheik at a Target. But yeah I've gone into Meijer on random days and it seems like each day I would get lucky with a rare. Saw Villager and Wii Fit Trainer several times after launch too, but I was too dumb to pick them up since I wasn't in to collecting Amiibos until Wave 2 hit.
My hometown has a Wal-Mart and a Meijer, and Wal-Mart has always consistently had a shit selection of only a few commons. This is also in a town where the majority of the population only buy from Meijer making it all the more pitiful.
I used to dislike Meijer years ago since they always seemed to get video games several days late, but they've done me good on Amiibos. I think they were the only ones releasing Pit for a while until he started appearing in other stores.

Hey everyone, I'm giving sebco a chance to respond to my message. But in case he doesn't, I have a spare Fox for trade. I saw it at Target, when picking up Elsa, because I wasn't sure if my friend still needed Fox (I found out later he didn't). I don't need a 2nd Fox and really trying to cut down on my "doubling down" and I'd like to get my money back at the very least.
But I wanna offer it to any of my Amiibros. I can't gauge the value since the box is busted to hell (thats how I found it). And I honestly want it to go to a good home instead of just chucking him back at the store. Plus I don't wanna feel like a scalper despite that Fox is rare-ish.
I'm still missing Peach, Link, Villager and Donkey Kong, and I'm hoping I can trade him for one or two of these (Villager is possibly asking too much).

In Canada, Shulk's already been released. Meta Knight is coming out Feb 28th and both megaman and sonic are delayed. I got a date range from February 24 - March 5 at amazon.ca. So likely out the same time as Meta Knight.

What's the latest on Toon Link in North America? I was able to snag Rosalina and Bowser this morning at Target, but they didn't get any Toon Links to begin with. I imagine they're pretty much sold out everywhere by now, huh?

In the U.S. - I'm not sure about Shulk. Meta Knight has no release date and the others should be available on 2/13.

I have a Toon Link pre-ordered at Amazon (along wth Mega Man and Sonic), but I was hoping to get one before March. Ah well, no big deal either way!

The two Toys R Us around me both said they weren't notified of any more Lucario stock coming in (and one said they didn't have any last Friday to begin with). I called one of them again today about this wave in general and they quite firmly reiterated that they haven't received any amiibo, and that they can't check the system to see if or when more are coming.
Sounded like bullshit to me, but I didn't want to argue with them. They're a fucking awful store to shop at, anyway-- I almost would rather buy from scalpers.
Damn, it feels like rarity has gotten worse and worse with each wave. Compared to Wave 1 where 9/12 characters weren't too hard to get, Wave 3 only has Bowser who can reliably be obtained. Granted only 5/11 have been released so far, but I don't think any of the other characters will be common with the exception of Sonic and maybe Mega Man.
Shulk seems to be 2/13 as well.
Wow, I'm surprised. I saw a lot of Toon Link last week with Bowser at TRU. It was Sheik that sold out even last week (the first day TRU decided to sell Bowser/Toon Link early). And I'm hearing most stores getting their Wave 3 release date stock are only getting a couple Sheik per store.
Didn't know Toon Link was also that rare. Wish I had bought more for others. =/
I still think "as of now"... Shulk/Lucario/Sheik are the current front runners for the new Holy Trinity.
