Amiibo Thread 3 | Where release dates are made up and preorders don't matter!

I'm not even bothering with the US Market anymore.

The extra 15 dollars on PlayAsia is worth it just to know I'll definitely get Megaman and Sonic without a huge hassle.

my brother and i also constantly use our amiibos in game. no way I'd buy them otherwise. We each got our own "gods" (as in someone we even have trouble defeating) his is a mario amiibo who is a monster, constantly spiking players and mines is a captain falcon who neither of us could beat(but sometimes mario can), i gave him too much on his attack, dude is rocking like 97 or up on attack, gets the smash balls in 1 hit. we also have trash amiibos too who are hilarious to play with, fox(his amiibo) is my personal favorite. it occasionally just commits suicide if its getting defeated by a lot. its hilarious, he actually just walks off the stage or sometimes will jump over you off the stage and not even attempt to come back, we call it the "i give up". We have no idea how he learned to do it but i hope he never changes.

honestly they're really fun to play with.
 
Meta Knight is totally S tier.

Pikachu and Kirby are tough to grade. They look practically perfect to the game, but their poses on a statue just aren't that exciting.

from what I've seen DDD and Meta are godly tier. they look perfect, I'm honestly surpised they put the details on DDD's hammer. after we found out what ike actually looks like i was telling my bro there is no way DDD will look as advertised, first huge thing you'll notice will be that he hammer has no detail in it at all.

If the paint is thinned properly it should be completely smooth. A good repaint shouldn't look like it has been painted. Look at the sleeve in particular. You kind of need to zoom in to see the imperfections, but they're there. The Pit repaint has similar issues.

the fox one isn't that bad imo, i wouldn't buy it, but still not that bad. I don't like the pit one at all tho, it looks really bad

I made my Amiibo fight each other to turn Level 50. Does that mean they'll suck? Because I've seen them fight and beside some nice reads...they suck.
 
I mean, there are a lot of custom repainted Amiibo and they all have the same issues. Clumpy looking paint. There's a way around that, but it's fairly time consuming.

I respect your opinion, but I really don't have any issue whatsoever with that Fox, personally. I think it looks great.

Remember, I'm getting 7 Mega Mans repainted, and they're not even close to as detailed as Fox, so they're practically guaranteed to look amazing!

I've researched other stuff, and I just really liked Saludos Amiibos' stuff the best. I wish I could truly understand rhe clumpy paint thing, but I'm no painter, so I don't know. Regardless, for what it's worth, I do appreciate your insight, since you seem pretty knowledgeable in that aspect.

I remember fighting my Link amiibo on an FD stage as Samus. Link comes back for his final stock and as I move away, I down+B and grab the ledge. He moves over it and tries to hit me with a nair. I get ledge invincibility and his fast fall nair causes him to die.

I think the amiibos are already stupid even without fighting others.

Still think he's awesome for display. I mean, I honestly don't look that close at my figurines. He has one of the best overall physical forms IMO (the shape, the pose etc.)

EDIT: oh you were replying to that one poster. I can agree with you reasoning.

I think kirby and pikachu are pretty close to S tier as they look pretty much perfect. Kirby is by far the cutest amiibo however I suspect that Jigglypuff will dethrone him.

Updating a post from earlier since the image wasn't showing up for people (hopefully it works now). I picked up a couple of extra Amiibos today that I am looking to trade if anyone is interested. I have 1 Sheik and 1 Toon Link. I will look around for more of these tomorrow if anyone expresses interest in either as I may be able to get some more if anyone needs either of those two. Apparently Sheik in particular is pretty hard to find?

Got my Might Ape order, not very impressed with their handling since some of the packaging on the amiibos is damaged :/

I get more and more tempted to import Dedede everyday. I'm also starting to feel that way about Mega Man and Sonic now too...

yo that elsa has a huge as fucking head and tiny waist. besides that tho yea you're right, it looks like a much higher quality figure, what is it, like a buck or 2 more compared to amiibos? fuck man, give me figures of that quality if it means all i gotta do is pay an extra buck or 2.
