Doesn't ship to store orders being closed mean they're already on their way to stores though? I don't think they can get delayed cancelled anymore.
I believe it just means that the order has been transferred to the store -- the item can still be delayed, but you won't get the automated notification because it's treated like a site preorder now.

I wouldn't doubt that possibility at all , i expect either these Special Mario Variants as Nintendo World exclusives or R.O.B. to pay homage to the NES deluxe bundle that launched in NYC back in the day.
 
Went into Gamestop today to try and order the Toad Amiibo. There weren't any listed as available on their website, but by going into the store I was able to order 2. They only had 5 available for pre-order at my store and the estimated shipping date is 3/20 in their system. The clerk said it was listed with an SM tag in the system, if that helps.

Hmmm. This brings back nightmarish flashbacks of the "The Great TRU Cancellation."

I was reading the thread and people were talking about receiving the cancellation emails from TRU for wave 3. I felt bad for everyone but didn't put two and two together. Than I had a spit take moment, WAIT A SEC, I HAVE PREORDERS AT TRU!! I opened my email and the cancellation notices came pouring in.

I'm gonna go curl up in a corner now

Sry guyz. EU, AU, NZ and CA are special!!m Let's send them ALL there first and then dump some leftovers in the US.... if any are left.

(They couldn't just do small shipments for each region at the same time?)
 
I really don't know how these guys are screwing up preorders so hard. Don't they get an exact inventory count of how many copies can be preordered? This makes no sense to me.
 
You know, if the port strike really is to blame for all this, and they do manage to clear it up and straighten everything out...are there unopened containers out there with wave 2 and 3 amiibos just waiting to be shipped out? Boy would that change the NA market.

What baffles me is how regions are covering pre-orders AND gettig an influx of extras. Shouldn't they cover global pre-orders first and then pump out extras?
 
Basically, the backup is causing logistical issues that could end up being almost impossible to resolve in any orderly fashion. Containers being stacked up to the point that no more can come in, ships being stuck without anywhere to unload their cargo...

I heard of the port strike a while back, i assumed things were going to be cleared up in the coming days , i was way off.This is insane , i now see why many believe the port will face an economic collapse . most of the ships are being re routed to other ports, many in Canada from what i hear.
 
I bet these port strikes are still screwing up distribution.

So if it gets settled, I suppose that there will suddenly be a deluge of amiibo stock in stores? Including Rosalina, that was "initial shipment only"? Boy, those resellers are gonna be screwed.

However, TRU made good on those cancellations. At least for me it was a success.
 
They really do, at least I got mine preordered. But seriously why does EU complain about their Club Nintendo's again and say there's worse than ours?
We've been shat on for so many years. I mean honestly this EU turn around is huge. An even then it's still steps behind. Our catalogue has sucked hard. We don't even have platinum status and have had Club Nintendo since 2001. EU in general is often getting shafted. Keep in mind at least you guys can buy your Majoras Mask LE.

So is that how Canada received shipments were from them docking in Van? I figured they would have to go through the US first (then again, ate the packages billingual?)

Your right but what if he ends up being a retailer exclusive here in North America? i have a feeling ToysRUs is going to try to obtain all the future Pokemon characters as exclusives , this was mentioned a while back but apparently there is a common theme in each amiibo wave and this could possibly be one.

Use Google chrome (auto translate ) and then keep a translate window open so you can type and send French. That's what I did. Had an entire conversation with a French csr despite knowing no French. It was a cool experience. What a world we live in.


Fwiw, they apologized for the delay and said to give it through the 7th. If I haven't received by then, they said to contact them again
 
UUUUUGGGGGHHHHHH, that would explain why my GS had no idea as to when they were getting more amiibo. That port strike or whatever seriously needs to get taken care of.

I swear, it feels like "Well you think collecting these is hard enough? WHY NOT MAKE IT EVEN MOORRREEE DIFFICULT?!"
 
Hi everyone.

I was contacted by an admin over my account. And after the multiple PMs I got yesterday from people asking me. So I'll just get this out of the way. I am in fact Azula's fiance Olivia. Brent/Azula is taking a break to focus on his mental health and our engagement and Japan trip. But as you all know, I've always been an avid Amiibo collector. I was the one who got him into it. Azula is actually doing great in real life. Although each day is a struggle for him emotionally, and being on here (or the internet in general) was starting to take a toll. He wanted to take a break and have some privacy.

But he knew I wanted to post here. That I wanted to at least continue Amiibo collecting, since I got us into it. So he contacted an admin and asked if I could have an account created. The stipulation was that if his account was closed out, we could make me one. Which was fine, because he wanted to take a break. We had sorted this out with this admin. But for some reason, people kept poking and prodding. I have no idea why you guys thought we were the same person, as my writing style is way way different. The only thing i guess sort of similar, is that we both talk a lot. But I also write for a living, so talking a lot is what I do. So enough attention was being brought up, when I all I wanted to do was just post in peace.

Maybe we made the wrong decision by not speaking up about it. But I didn't want cause him stress. And he didn't want people defining me or bothering me because of him. So it made sense to just keep it to ourselves. I didn't think it mattered. But after being contacted by someone on the staff over it (and clearing it up), I figured it was best to just tell people.

I don't know what is expected of me. If I have to post my drivers license. Or prove I have a vagina. The whole thing is kind of strange to me. I never thought I would be questioned so much over it or that so much would be put on it. But I think it's best if I just don't post here again. I don't want to derail the thread or bring anymore attention on me and Azula then needs be.

Now that you mention it, didn't those wave 3.b figures in Canadian Toys R Us's appear on the west coast? Hmmm....

Profit, There was a article about nintendo saying they were creating just enough supply to sell through and not have much left so they would have a profit. This is coming at the expense of people obtaining the actual product though.
