I'm more afraid of wave X with Duck Hunt Dog and Game & Watch or whatever. Especially DHD could become the next unholy grail after Rosalina. Not to mention Ganondorf.

Also, there have been so reports of TRU receiving LOTS of Sheiks, in Reddit I have seen TRU with up to 20 sheiks per store, can anyone confirm?

There has been no GameStop cancellations (so far).

The concern is either some orders have been delayed, or other orders have a "closed" status - which usually means their item is in route to the store.

GameStop's system is known to be unreliable at times too.

But yes, as far as I am aware, no cancellations yet.

I agree, but I also agree more that we should just let it drop - me, I can "live by example" and this will be the last I post about it in the thread.
 
Suppose Mega Man/Sonic has X units being produced.


...Nintendo will, at best, produce X/10 Duck Hunt units. We are so, so fucked with that one.


Pls advise: How do I justify to my wife the deluge of 6 Amiibos I'll be receiving over the next week? :p

Then don't read the post or ignore it. If a person wishes to discuss their experiences with amiibos then it should de allowed, not censored. That goes for all topics (found out the hard way) that even scalping discussions should be even allowed. If it relates to amiibo it's good to go in my book.

Come on guys be awesome to each other, Amiibros 4 life. Waiting on gamestop wave 4 to go up, ran on my break to go get MP Amiibo preorders locked down.
 
My 2 cents: This kind of off-topic, over-dramatic stuff is the thing that gets threads killed, moved to community, gets lots of people banned, such on and such forth. So, instead of all this conspiracy stuff, this worrying about how people enjoy something or how they post and speak about how the stuff affects them or trying to make it about one thing over another, lets just enjoy the fact that we have a group of like-minded people, looking out for each other as we try to deal with NOA trying to make getting all the amiibos more impossible with every passing day.

Zero Suit Samus"s release will be a massacre , even more so if she ends up being a retailer exclusive here , if you have even the slightest interest ion obtianing her i recommend either stalking the web at all hours or camping out hours in advance.
 
Looking forward to stopping by gamestop today. Need to make sure I pre order the toad amiibo. Thinking of cancelling my Walmart order for yoshi and just getting them all pre ordered in store. What do you guys think? There isn't much of a difference in cost.

In store pre-orders seem to be the safest way to go, but I don't imagine Yoshi will be difficult to find.
 
I still have Sonic and Mega Man at TRU pending. Walmart has my Ike and King Dedede set to arrive on the 9th, Monday, but have yet to have anything ship!
 
Because I know people in this thread love pictures, I took a picture of my local best buy's amiibo section today. The Toon Link's looked really nice but unfortunately are outside of my budget.

I mentioned this before, but I suspect you should be concerned only of the Amiibos that have not been sold at the Nintendo World Store as of yet (Ike, Mega Man, DeDeDe). Shulk will probably actually show up at Gamestop, but the others seem like they haven't gotten to the US yet and are in a bit of limbo at the moment.

Fortunately there are no retailer exclusive amiibo in my territory yet and I don't think that will ever change. That doesn't mean every amiibo is easy to get, but it's far more convenient than in the States.

It is a good thing to befriend scalpers, some of them are normal fans like us that just want to make bank on the figures and they normally have the free time to get all the rare figures. In my line of business I have dealed with scalpers and they sell me stuff at retail price (Amiibos don´t, since I normally don´t sell videogame related stuff and only bring enough for preorders, I sell mostly anime).

Of course scalpers want to bring in a profit and they are messing with the demand, but the only one to blame there is Nintendo, just look at what happened with Diddy Kong and Zelda (And now Bowser and Toon Link), there is way too many in the wild that scalpers can´t feasibly make a profit scalping them, since they are available for everyone easily. If nintendo could provide similar numbers for ALL figures, then we wouldn´t be in this thread 24/7.


Oh, and everyone is buying multiples now because of the paranoia, and I´m sure a lot of those are going to get cancelled, that is going to give trust issues with retailers, so of course they won´t want to order more than necessary to Nintendo.
 
So Amazon is shipping me Bowser, Toon Link and Sheik now...the latter two of which I already have (and forgot to cancel) so I'd be open to a trade or something.

I agree. I guess it's just all about getting them all together at once. Do the mario amiibos launch the same day as mario party or are they like this wave mess on different dates? I already know about mario.

Instead on trying to control other people's behavior, why don't you just enact GAFs very easy to use ignore feature, then you won't have to read the posts. Very simple. We have great mods here; if there was a problem with her posts, let them take care of it.

Back to Amiibos ... I'm starting to get really nervous about getting a Lucina and Robin, those are really the ones I've wanted the most. Nintendo isn't really serving their interests by making it this difficult to get their products. I understand wave 1 being an issue, they under estimated things. Wave 2 I can sorta understand, maybe the production orders were already in by the time the saw what was happening. But, by now, they should have things running smoothly, and they don't.

It's a horrible thought that I have to wish that Fox gets rarer so that I have something to trade for one of the Amiibos I want more. :/ it's kind of aggravating. I want everyone to be able to get what they want ...

The first set of Mario amiibos all launch the day Mario Party comes out. The second wave (Rosalina/Waluigi/Daisy/whoever) haven't been announced yet. Mario is exclusive to the Mario Party bundle for the time being.
