I wonder if the stock that Best Buy put up for Meta Knight for in store pick up affect the stock that will be available in store on launch day?
 
Glad to know if you're away from your computer for more than 7 minutes you run the risk of completely missing out on an amiibo for (probably) ever.

Awesome.
 
Dang. Missed Meta.
Oh well. Is there anyone here who works at Best Buy that'd be kind enough to look up how much certain stores have in stock? or are they not allowed to do that any more?

Kinda sorta. Amiibo and Skylanders are "toys to life"; essentially they are figures with an NFC chip in them, which video games can interpret and used to unlock things. Skylanders unlocks a Character, and often some sort of bonus while Amiibo unlock a NPC character to fight against in Smash Wii U/3DS. This NPC can learn and level up (to 50) and actually become pretty formidable in the long run. They're also pretty collectable since they're pretty well made for a (semi) cheap figure.
 
On the 13th I missed MM Mask 3DS (canceled Target Order), MM Limited Edition game Sonic, Mega Man, Ike, Dedede (if he was up...can't remember)

Today I got Meta Knight. I feel a little better now.

Either that or it will affect the folks who preordered with in-store pickup and they're grabbed when the doors open before the employees can hold them for online orders. Either way, people are going to get screwed over. This is an Amiibo we're talking about; should we expect any different? :P

it'll be like smash brothers wii u bundle , my best buy took more pre orders than they had, so basically if you showed up at opening you got it and the people that came later in the day didnt get it.
this might happen again.

Well, I can't exactly be F5ing GAF and the shop sites every minute to check while trying to work. It doesn't help that these things seem to go up at any moment with little rhyme or reason.
 
I was already in the middle of placing a bb amiibo order when that happened. I was buying the clearance-priced commons plus mario, because I like them better than the super mario line versions. I tried to get a meta knight but was too slow.
 
Had him in my cart, but then fumbled with make sure I had store pick up (because last shipped one came in bubble mailer busted up), and getting my security code so didn't make it. :c

It's just like Ike from a few days ago.

Uh, I'm pretty sure this is the case. If they don't even have enough to fulfill in store pickup preorders, then they'll cancel the remaining. I always opt for shipping for BB preorders because of this. So far they have fulfilled all my orders.
 
I got Metaknight! I also got Shulk through here when someone randomly posted he was up.

Man, why couldn't I be this on the ball for the MM New 3DS XL?!

Came in stock while I was driving. My wife was frantically trying to order one from my phone and it just wasn't fast enough, we got to it within the first minute it went live too. Had one in the cart, but then when she clicked check out it disappeared.

Eff me for having to do things other than sit at my computer for 24 hours a day, right?

Sweet talked CS at TRU. asked if they got any new shipments in back. She told a guy to let me in back to check and boom! Charleston SC.they have hooked me up in the past but dayyyum. Also got that TRU sale so 12.15 with tax each. I know it's a brag but it's so miraculous I had to share

I got the idea from Reddit. Some were saying Toys R Us got new shipments in today of Wave 3B. I asked and explained a scalper took them all on Friday morning (truth ). So they let me in the stock doorway. I suggest if you can go ask nicely in person of they got a new FedEx shipment today. They gave me 2 of each Ike Sonic Mega Man and Dedede. One set for me and my daughter and one for my good friend. Good luck
 
If my order doesn't get canceled I can trade a Meta Knight for one of the following. Keep me in mind.

I agree it sucks that we have to watch and refresh websites all hours of the day to catch that 30 second window to get one. :(

amiibos are for unemployed resellers. Everybody knows that.
 
Gamestop comes through! They took my name down a couple of weeks ago in case any pre-ordered Shulks weren't picked up, and just got a call to come by and get it. No waiting until May now.
