I've noticed that Toys R Us and target stocked them the same day but wal-mart was always late. It depends but Toys R Us in my area is hardly ever packed and they open pretty late. They also have the biggest amiibo selection by far. When I wanted one I went to toys r us first and usually got what I wanted the day of release. Not counting the first few early releases where people were lining up.
Thank you both. I was thinking about getting them alongside some other products using the visa $25 off $100 but I guess then I can't use BB GCs. I guess BB will let you pre-order for in-store pickup (which seems like a good bet unless anyone here has had bad experiences with that and amiibo) but the store that has two of the amiibo doesn't have the other one. Maybe she doesn't care about 8-bit Link, though. :/

BTW, the SAVER code is I think only for in-stock items and regardless wasn't getting rid of the handling fees. Thanks though!

Ah, I see it now after trying to check out all three at once. My earlier OOT link + other items order doesn't have the fee applied. I researched it and apparently they charge an additional fee for irregular shaped items and randomly attach it to amiibos and other similar figurines. That sucks. Might be possible to still get it in store at gamestop on the 2nd.
Oh, I see. Thanks for researching it, I really appreciate that. I think for convenience's sake if I can't figure out how to get the items shipped w/o that fee I may just spend the extra $1 per each for TRU. Thanks again!

What? Are all the costumes just already selectable in the game, no Amiibo scan needed? Or are they stripped out of the game entirely?

What happens on stages with costume mushrooms? Just makes Super Mario? Wouldn't that break stages that require you to fit in one block spaces with a powerup?

Saw someone in the UK post up (low res) photos. They're out here (Australia) for wide release in like a day I think.
Oh also the Donkey Kong Super Mario amiibo is one of the best yet. Picked it up and love how big it feels, but still detailed. Especially good after the Smash one had derp face.
They didn't have them all at my local BBs (for in-store pickup). I'd have to go to multiple, including one not too close by. Luckily a kind GAFer is picking up and sending to me. The GCU savings will be ~ the shipping cost, I think.
I don't even wanna count how many I have.
I have them all, minus the cards and Mega Yarn Yoshi.

Smyths Toys in the UK are doing a 3 for 2 on Amiibo, the new Zelda ones are included.

Got an email last night saying the new Zelda amiibo will be ready to pick up at Best Buy today. Checked my order and see that the 2-pack isn't there, only 8-bit and OOT Link. They definitely charged me for all of them, though!

Oh hey, it DID come today, just by UPS. Huh. 8-bit Link's nose looks a little too long, but it's still really neat, especially the sword that's on his back. Hoping we get to see more 8-Bit amiibos.
Back of the box shows 3 games that it works on: Twilight Princess HD, Hyrule Warriors Legends, & Super Smash Bros Wii U/3DS. Also mentions Breath of the Wild. So I would assume yes.
