It's weird, I had seen tons of these Zelda amiibos on clearance in various stores I've been to. Now that I know what exclusives they give I doubt I'll find them anymore.

Walmart was clearing them out, so I got the Zelda amiibo I was missing.
I still like the Nendoroids more, but the amiibo look nice in their own way.

Anyone have any idea where I can get hold of the 30th Anniversary OOT and 8-bit Link Amiibos in the UK? They're like £25 on Amazon for some bizzare reason. Same goes for GAME
They were super common everywhere before BotW and then vanished. OoT Link is going for £90+ on eBay.
It was only $12 too.
I also got this guy from Amazon. It's one of the few from the first wave that I missed that hasn't gone up in price.
I don't think I'll ever understand the colored stands, but I do like the little Starfox decals on his outfit. He even has one on his tiny belt buckle.
Yeah, I never knew I wanted them before BOTW ;_;

Just came across this. Nintendo is selling some amiibos. (Smash Link (may be sold out per below), 8-Bit Link, Ganondorf, and lots of non-Zelda ones.)

Nintendo still hasn't quite figured out that they need to make a lot for franchises that people give a shit about, when they actually tie cool stuff to them (Zelda), and less for franchises that people don't give a shit about, that do basically nothing in their games (Animal Crossing).
Employee 1: Hey guys, we're launching new hardware in three months, and the main game across two platforms is a Zelda game, we should make more of these 30th anniversary Zelda amiibo right? Anyone?
Employee 2: Well, no, the Animal Crossing amiibo didn't sell very well, so obviously we should do a much smaller order.

Got a bad feeling the Box Boy amiibo isn't coming to the US.
3rd game is confirmed for an European release of March 23rd as "Bye-Bye Box Boy" & the NoE PR statement only mentions the Kirby amiibo for unlocking costumes, & now says that to unlock the Game Boy filter & Qucy costume, you need save date from both previous games.
Well, guess I'll have to see if import prices are decent.

The Amazon prices are whack. He's like 30 bucks ATM.
Speaking of which, the Monster Hunter Story amiibos are pretty decently priced for the wave 1. They're all about 16. Which is a better deal than the upchrage amiibos just got with the BOTW line. Picked up the girl riding the one-eyed rathalos. If the other female rider goes down in price, I'll pick that up too.
Still find it odd they raised the price of amiibos. Since I don't see any difference in the BOTW amiibos looking at the older ones. The vague mentioning of "quality increase" I think is bullshit. The only amiibo that should cost more is the guardian.

Also this whole Zelda amiibo snafu could have been avoided if Nintendo actually told us that they'd give exclusive perks in BotW before the damn game came out. When they released for all anyone knew they were just different versions of the Smash Link/Toon Link/Zelda figures. Only after the game's been out a week, and I think not even though official word from Nintendo, did anyone fine out.
It's still absolutely ridiculous that they're gone 3 months after release. "You had a chance to buy them in December" not really, as I said I've been actively looking for the Wind Waker 2-pack since Dec 3rd and have never seen it anywhere, and Amazon always had it for well over MSRP. A new product in an ongoing line like amiibo shouldn't just disappear 2-3 months after release. It's not like they said "limited edition" on the boxes, and you can still find Smash Bros amiibo in stores years after their release, let alone a couple months. "What did you think would happen when BotW came out" I thought that Nintendo would anticipate a surge in sales and make more, considering it's not just their biggest game ever created and launching on two consoles but also the flagship launch title for brand new hardware.

Should've clarified better.
The increase of price for the BOTW amiibo that are not the guardian have no justification to be a higher price than all previous lines. I don't really see anything that makes the price increase apparent.
In the case of guardian and the imported MH amiibo they're bigger than the standard amiibo. They also let you take off the riders and put them on the others if you want.

Man, I didn't expect the OoT Link would still be OOS. Why the fuck is that line of aniibos so hard to find? I guess I should've just bought them at release.

edit: WAIT A MIN. I see these scalpers on Amazon saying they'll get more stock at the end of this month. Hell, a bunch of them say the same things. Something tells me there will be a major restock around that time. Guess I'll wait.

Oooo thanks for the head's up. Hopefully I can get Wind Waker Link and Zelda then too.
I wonder when Nintendo will announce Wave 2 of the Zelda line? (Or is it Wave 3 with BotW counting as Wave 2?) Or when they'll actually release? Maybe they'll announce them at E3, show a trailer for the BotW DLC, and then release them this fall/winter to coincide with it.
I never really wanted OoT Link until seeing you got his tunic in BotW but I definitely want Fierce Deity Link and Skyward Sword Link. SS Link is probably my favorite Link of all besides BotW.
Feeling a mixture of annoyance and excitement to be "on the hunt" for amiibo again. Blergh!!

I also want the Box Boy amiibo but with him being 40 bucks, that's a definite no go at this time.

Is the Box Boy amiibo $40 by itself or does it come with a game like the pack-in combos we've had here? And is there basically no chance it will come to America? I hate the idea of putting down $40 for just an amiibo, so if the prices always eventually fall in Japan like they do here, I guess it'd be best to wait.

This works for figures so I don't see why it wouldn't here. Put it under hot water for a bit (I'd not submerge the base so just hold it so the figure is submerged) then when the plastic is pliable push and hold it into the position you want and put it under cold water. This will loosen the plastic's structure then lock it into the new position.

Down in Cali here but I was just at Toy's R Us looking at their DK amiibo and wondering why DK - and only DK - had a special price sticker putting him at $13.99 when everything else was $12.99.
So if he's still down here maybe there's hope for you up there? Canada's always had a better supply than the US, right?
Also had no idea that Pit was so prevalent, as is Pala... I'm not even gonna try. But now that I know that I can finally feel good about taking mine out of the box so he and Dark Pit can engage in battle on my shelf. And I can complete the trio! Woo!
