I keep forgetting to post this.
I dunno if you guys have been keeping up with Nintendo's instagram stories/snapchat stories but they've been posting pics from the Switch events these last couple of weekends.

This neat Squid statue keeps showing up in all the pics they take of the Splatoon area and I was realizing...it looks pretty much exactly like a giant sized version of the Squid amiibo that's been out.
Clearly, giant amiibos are confirmed.

Actually I wanted to point out that the Squid is an easy money amiibo they could continue to release in a few different colors, maybe even chase variants. a Pink one whenever Splatoon 2 comes out seems likely, and maybe some new squiddos with hairstyle/weapon changes. I still want a nice roller one ;-;

Speaking off, these amiibo

Where did we get this info from? I already pre-ordered the Guardian and Link Archer one but have no idea what they do.

Also Best Buy has pre orders up for the amiibo still.

GameXplain has a video detailing it.

Archer Link looks like it'll give you the most stuff, or at least the possibility of the most stuff.

Personally I don't like it. I pre-ordered Zelda and the Guardian, though. The other 3 shoudn't be much of a problem to get

I thought these are all items you can get normally through the game otherwise still though?

Saw both BOTW Links at Walmart today. The archer one looks pretty cool. The rider one looks ok, I know you can't see his face under the hood but I would have liked it better if it was more featured in the parts you can see. I didn't want either so I didn't try to check out but they were out at the bottom of the amiibo shelf.

Well, Best Buy is now preparing my amiibo. I wanted to hold out for Amazon again but seeing as how I'm no longer a prime member I decided to take the plunge to Best Buy.

Have you guys seen this? Apparently there are data in Breath of the Wild for three new amiibo in the Zelda 30th line: Majora's Mask Link, Twilight Princess Link, and Skyward Sword Link. Sounds pretty interesting to me, although I wish we got some of the Zeldas as well.

Yeah, was gonna say reading that, that's a lot of Links lol. Surely some other characters could get some love. Zelda, of course, but maybe some fun ones like the Happy Mask Salesman or Tingle.

I get Link was the most popular in the US, but man, there's gonna be more versions of Link than Mario at this point:

- Wind Waker Toon Link
- 8-bit Link
- Wolf Link
- BotW Link (archer)

- MM Link (aka Young Link)
- TP Link

That's 11 versions of Link, compared to the 7 versions of Mario:

- Super Mario series Mario

- 8-bit Classic Mario

Mario's basically the same guy in every game, Link is a completely different character.

That said, it's true, seems silly there are two BOTW Links. And Smash caused a lot of it by having Smash versions of characters.

Considering we have Link amiibo for LoZ, OoT, MM, WW (twice), TP (both Wolf and human, the latter twice), SS, and BotW (twice) we might as well go all the way and just do every Link at this point, lol. We already will have every 3D Zelda covered.

....yeah, I guess all those jokes of "yo nintendo's gonna make a version of EVERY Link" are coming true.

.....gimme Wind Waker Ganondorf as compensation for not being able to get that figurine with WW HD.

I'm sure when they do a Skyward Sword HD they'll release a few Amiibo for that.

I would buy every single Wind Waker one. Tetra (Zelda one should have been Tetra), Aryll, King of Hyrule, Grandma, Medii, Makar...

I was relatively sure the new amiibo are a bit bigger than the regular ones like the Smash line. They were supposed to be around the size of the Monster Hunter ones which were also larger.

If anyone has them, can we get a size comparison?

The Link ones I saw just looked like a normal amiibo size, certainly no bigger than Wolf Link or 30th Mario, but this was just based on a brief look at them.

I just need Wario and Waluigi since I grabbed Yoshi off ebay the other day. After that I'm going to work on grabbing some of the Smash ones I still want.

My Breath of the Wild Amiibos shipped today. Hopefully I get lucky and they get here early.

I wish Zelda Amiibo was up on Best Buy, since I have a 5 coupon I could use on it.

Quick question. I'm gonna let my friend borrow my Wii U so he can play BotW along with WW & TP HD, and realized "oh damn, if he's gonna play TP HD, I should let him borrow my Wolf Link amiibo so then he can scan it & give me extra hearts for BotW". Is it read-only for BotW, or will it be limited to one profile/game? I think I still need to register it with my system, but would be nice to have Wolf Link have more than 3 hearts when I play BotW.

Man if they made a few other main characters from Breath of the Wild i'd never complain about anything with Amiibo again.

With all the Switch hype, I kind of forgot that the BoTW amiibo are out today too! I just went and double-checked my Best Buy orders to make sure everything was in before I drove out there and was reminded that I have five amiibo to pick up!

I still need to order Alm and Celica too.
