After playing Pillars of eternity, divinity original sin 1 and 2 and wasteland 3, it's clear to see that the isometric rpg is more alive and popular than it has been for decades. It's also a genre that isn't too demanding on specs, looks awesome regardless of 1080p or 4k, plays well, supports multiplayer both coop and online and is just a jolly good fun time.
With that being the case I would like Fallout to return to its isometric roots.
"but hold on, you thick pedo-defending virgin twat, I like my FPS Fallout" I hear you say. And I offer you this:
Why not both. Gif
Fallout FPS could exist in its current form of a Fallout 76 style, mmo, persistent multiplayer online state. While the single player (or coop ala divinity) could take place in an isometric world.
While I love walking around the wastes in 3D, Fallout has lost most of its charm by moving away from isometric.
With tech what it is today, there's nothing stopping every conversation happening in first person, like in the original Fallout universe. (for those who didn't play it, think Brian Fargo in Wasteland 3).
Thoughts?
