Someone has started development on an OLED panel for the original LCD Steam Deck. No word on price as this is still a WIP. Swapping the screen will be similar to the Deck HD, just replace the screen and flash the bios. This looks to be a significant upgrade as the new panel is 1080p and can support up to 165hz refresh rate. In the video the developer talks about the testing process and did see some improvements to battery life. Downside is the developer is gauging interest through crowdsourcing.
