Nah, I think analysts are just doing the same thing they did with the PS2 and PSP: They're looking at it from a sane Western Company point of view where you don't sell things at a huge loss betting the future of your entire company on one product.
Sony is awesome because they repeadiately take huge losses to sell high-tech stuff at dirt cheap prices for their system launches. This is fantastic for the consumer since we get a system that should be $500-1000 for $300. It 'can' be bad for the company if the product doesn't take off, but unless you have stocks in Sony you really shouldn't care whether the company has huge losses for a few years.
