Andre Braugher, the two-time Emmy winning actor who starred in the hit television series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and "Homicide: Life on the Street," died Monday after a brief illness. He was 61.

Sad. Any idea what the "brief illness" was?

I guess it sounds like the family is blunting it, like when Iwata's cancer was called a "growth".

This one hit hard. Loved him in Homicide, and then for him to turn up as a great comedic actor in Brooklyn nine-nine and then to die so soon after with so much promise.

I've enjoyed his portrayals of characters. One of the more recent ones was when he was in The Mist. I should watch that one again.
Also, Brief Illness? ....

Him and Lance Reddick are two wild deaths this year for me.

If you never seen André Braugher in Thief it's worth hunting down, it's a DAMN SHAME how FX acts like it doesn't exist.

I only know him from B99, but he was one of those actors that made me say "I should really see what else he's done, he's got something about him".
