Usually, the bigger and more complex a potential criminal enterprise, the longer it can take to arrive at charges. I'm not all that au fait with the Romanian criminal system obviously, but in general it's not usual for people to remain uncharged for a considerable amount of time, given that prosecutors will always try for the most serious charge first. It's a lot harder to scale up a charge than it is to scale down.

Of course, it could equally be that they don't have enough to charge them, but then there would be no cause to continue having them incarcerated. I'd suggest they are taking their time to build a case against him, before issuing the charges. Wise, given his media celebrity and social media following.

Any investigation involving a high profile individual, with a large and volatile fan base, should be taken slowly, and charges only brought when there's a high degree of certainty over criminality.

It’s not a good look for Romania if you accuse 2 people of serious crimes, hold them for a substantial amount of time, and then all of a sudden drop charges or have no evidence at the end for a conviction.

Tate's defender was trying to make out that they had found nothing incriminatory in the raids they carried out on his properties, therefore meaning he must be innocent. I pointed out that the authorities don't go around telling the public what evidence they have gathered in an ongoing criminal investigation, and no reports have emerged that say they found nothing of consequence.

The charges are quite serious. Along with his history, the matter is more prescient in the court of public opinion. Since there is video of Tate beating a woman, it's not such a far stretch to get to him physically forcing women to webcam model for him. He himself admits on his own website he has women webcam because he emotionally manipulates them into it. We don't know the methods absolutely, but it's pretty clear he coerces women to generate cash for him against their better judgement.

I don't know the Romanian legal system well enough to say whether or not he will be found guilty there. From the few bits I've read, Romania is extremely lax when it comes to human trafficking.

It's worth noting that Tate himself admits he moved to Romania because of the lax laws.

From my understanding, Tate brought the attention of the authorities when he got in an argument with one of his girls and kicked her out of the house. She wanted money, he refused, she went to the police, and I assume that's when authorities first learned of the trafficking situation. He details this and subsequent events on a podcast, in his own words.

Tate self-snitched on the trafficking charges so unless he was lying for content, he's 100% guilty. He explicitly details the "loverboy method" and subsequent exploitation on his website, and in multiple long-form podcasts. Consent is voided in trafficking cases if it was obtained through any improper means - which by his own words, he did.

It seems most people who think Tate is innocent of human trafficking don't actually know what human trafficking is legally. They all assume human trafficking is what you see in movies like Taken. Based on his own statements and the publicly available evidence it's not looking good for TOP G.
