I picked up the Humble Bundle earlier this week and love Spirits. It is like lemmings because you have the spirits that you are trying to get to the end of the level. You have different abilities you can make the spirits do so that they get through the level. It is $2.99 on the store and you get it from the Humble Bundle if you pay like $6.15.

Hey, how is Pix'N Love as an Android game? It looks interesting to me, and I've only really started with this whole Android gaming business.

I just ordered a Nexus 7 (probably against my better judgement, lol) so I'm ready to take the plunge into some more serious Android gaming. I've done a bit of gaming on my Droid 2, but it's getting a little slow for a lot of newer games, and I hate draining the battery any more than I have to.

Will most of my Google Play/Amazon games port over to a tablet without any problems?

Yes, mainly because they were made for tablets.

Also finally what does it mean when they say a game is "HD"? I like many others from the Galaxy Nexus timeframe onward have a 720p phone so I'd like to find games that are suited more for that resolution verses the older QHD/WVGA screens.

Usually this just means high quality assets. It started being used when the transition from 320x240 to 800x400 screens happened, and it's just sort of a buzz word now.

Wasn't there a load of buzz about Tiny Wings coming to Android? I've been waiting and waiting, but now that I look it up I can't find anything about it :(

Some fuckers have stolen my screenshots...

...to pedal their shitty ad thing (pretty sure there's no actual game there and they've paid for the 5 star reviews)...

...and what's worse they have 200,000 downloads from it, sort this shit out Google.

Shameless. Couldnt find anything from the email address: syrupjuic3z@gmail.com
And wtf is up with those permissions.

Reading up on any app from the dev it's clearly a scam app.
" Installed advert ads, would never open " is the common theme. Suggest everyone report this guy.

Oh well, Reported the app through here.

Yeah...I downloaded the "game" while offline so it couldn't do anything too horrendous but it edits your internet bookmarks, tries to get you to download some other stuff and bombards you with ads every way it can.

It's no surprise that people lament the Android market when Google allow shit like this to rise to the top. It's particularly insulting when as the developer of the original app (making Google money) they don't respond to me complaining about this blatant breach of their rules.

Yeah that's insane. I was looking everywhere, hoping to find a 'report this app' on the page. They really need to tackle shit like this.
Christ anything with those permissions needs to be screened.

Did they rip off your game as well, or just the screen shots? That hurts 500k downloads. If I was you, I would be pissed off if my game had lower downloads compared to this and they were ripping me off. I did report the game for you.

Chalk up another purchase for your app, not tried it yet but happy to help out members.

Also just reported the spam app as well.

Been playing a ton of World of Goo since we got it in the Humble Android bundle. Works really well.

Still don't like Bit Trip Beat. The game concept is cool, but I'm just not that found of either control scheme. It is better though post an update they pumped out to fix some of the oddities.

Cheers, doesn't look like there's any game actually there, so I'm not too angry. It's just a bit frustrating when I put a lot of work into my stuff and something like that gets more downloads, to almost no-ones benefit.

Thanks a lot.

It's out the end of the month most likely. You can get the APK around the internet if you're living outside of the States. It's a free app, so it's not like it's piracy or anything.

I have some weird paranoia when it comes to installing .apk files from sketchy pirate sites though. How likely is it that a site might distribute an .apk with malicious content?

Still no Jetpack Joyride in Google Play ?

maybe it's an Amazon timed exclusive like some other apps have been.

Hey, how is Pix'N Love as an Android game? It looks interesting to me, and I've only really started with this whole Android gaming business.

I like the game on my ipad, but I feel that the controls suck on a smaller screen. I like the retro art style that changes the further you go, but I'll probably stick to playing it on the ipad.

Are there any roguelikes a little more... Hardcore (for lack of a better word) than Legends of Lore?

For me personally, a 'casual' roguelike goes against the major draw of the genre.

This and the free version here. Full disclosure -- I'm the dev.

I only know of a couple of people who've cleared the hardcore dungeon (only in paid version) and they both had ascended in nethack...

Downloaded Bit Trip last night. Pretty cool game, but damn hard to pull a 100 combo.

I eventually killed myself as I wasn't expecting to play for 20+ minutes on my first try. Really like the game and the gyro controls.

Excellent game, but really difficult. And yep, there are only 3 levels, but each one lasts between 15 and 20 minutes. I was gladly surprised when I found out the Steam version comes with the GLaDOS level, so I'd suggest you to also try it.

Call of mini zombies. Pretty fun, with online coop and versus. Free.

Awesome game but there is slight lag at times, nothing debilitating (HTC Rezound).

The game is ad-supported. Ads appear while in the menus at the bottom of the screen and are very small. They do not appear during actual game play. It also offers IAPs to buy "cash", the in-game currency. They don't force it down your throat by locking certain content with "special cash" only attainable via IAPs or very extensive grinding. Some weapons are available to purchase at the beginning of the game with "cash" and the rest appear to become purchasable as you make progress in the single player aspect of the game.

The controls are implemented rather well and are very responsive. The co-op survival is a nice feature, though the PvP implementation pretty much just centers around the chainsaw and running around frantically. Based on my limited play time, this also appears to be the easiest way to gain "cash" other than with an IAP, though I could be wrong. I've only played six in-game days and a few rounds of PvP so I'm still discovering the games features and such.

My first impression of it is very positive, though! Will definitely support the dev with a high rating.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I haven't found a way to exit the game without having to manually force close it.

Looks amazing. Does this waste too much battery? (I'm new to Android).

live wallpapers can really destroy battery life. Especially the complex ones like this. I haven't tried this one specifically, but have tried my fair share of lwp's since having my phone. I just love having them despite the trade off.
