Android Gaming Thread New OP

The breakout clone TNNS is currently the free Amazon app of the day. I don't know too much about TNNS other than I've wanted to try the game since it comes from the same developer who made the popular iOS game Ziggurat.

Trese Brothers, makers of the best game on android (Star Traders) have only a few days left on their kick starter. If you like games, and you like Android (that means everyone in this thread), then back this now.

It's okay if you just want to support the developer but you'll still have to buy the game when it releases regardless of how much you pledge.

Someone was asking about Real Racing 3 earlier in the thread. It's live now

Wow, that's kind of incredibly cheap on their part.

This is the reason they give

At this time, Trese Brothers has not identified a method that we can give away copies of Heroes of Steel Elite. We are very interested in providing this as part of the reward structure, but are running up against challenges in how such a reward would still fit within the Google Play Program Guidelines.

Therefore, at this time, no reward (even to the $2,000 rewards!) include a free copy of the Heroes of Steel Elite game. All backers will need to purchase a copy for $2.99, for which we are heartily sorry. If we are able to achieve a free copy to all of our backers, it will be to anyone who has backed us at the $10 reward level of higher.

It's a pretty weak excuse honestly. The folks who made Chameleon launcher found a way to make it work for their Kickstarter backers, so they could follow that. Or they could give backers an unlock code that would activate all premium features on the free demo version. Or worst case they could ask backers to buy it from Google Play and then refund them by matching email addresses.

It's also amusing that they will only give copies of their game 10$+ backers when it's final price will be 3$ (if they can find a way). Usually Kickstarters work the other way.

Nice update to Pixel Dungeon overnight. Now has sound, and things seems a bit more balanced/easier. Definitely one of my favorite Android games.

Stupid region lock, there are actually plenty of interesting looking games in Japan's Google Play. Is the a way get around this?

It's good! It's Breakout meets Chu-chu Rocket. I feel like the game moves a bit fast, and I also question whether it would work well on a small screen. (playing it on Nexus 7)

It is completely playable without spending a dime.

My five year old has been playing it for *months* on his iPad and his park is level 28. Loves it. Anyway, I've been playing it since it hit Android back in December as well...

A buddy of mine put together a nice review after I recommended it to him - we are both anti-freemium for the most part.

Looks interesting and I may try it but I'm getting tired of this in so many games:

THE BAD: Wait or Pay Gaming | Smurfberries required to get everything | Will try your patience playing with paying | Constant connection to the internet is required. [end]

Not even the smurfberries so much, too much focus on time management :/ Saps the fun out the games and it makes it a chore.

Does it have freemiun shit?

I haven't dropped a dime on it and it doesn't look like I'll have to. You can buy money to speed things up if you want but, you also earn it by completing missions (or liking a Facebook page or something....). After a while you don't really need to speed much up anyways because there is a lot going on. It's playable without IAPs.

Nah, we check it 2 times a day...it isn't something you sit and 'grind' on all day. It's actually quite fun.

And for the record, he is still playing now even a couple of months after writing that....hehe

XSEED put a decent looking action RPG up on Play but it seems to be of the dreaded Paymium type.

Crap like this is why the 3DS and PSP are here to stay IMO...

Damn shame, it looked like it had potential.

What is currently the go to RPG for android? Just grabbed a Nexus 7 and I'm feeling something with a mild amount of depth - preferably not action based but I'm not opposed.

God damn Dungelot is addictive. Perfect to play on my evening walk - simple but compelling, easy to play with one hand.

Does anyone have any recommendation for similar games? I was also nuts about Triple Town and Puzzle Forge too.

Dungeon Raid. Except better.

I've just had a look at The Simpsons Tapped Out game. I couldn't find a topic for it, I presume there isn't one?

I've uninstalled it having seen the price of donuts.. I liked the game but the asking price for donuts was a lot more than I was willing to pay.

Donuts let you speed up the process of grinding and also build new buildings in Spingfield.

Final fantasy dimensions is on sale for $10. It says 1 year anniversary of Google Play (oops anniversary of their release). Might have to pick this up.

Humble Bundle With Android 5 is up. Initial lineup is: Beat Hazard Ultra, Dynamite Jack, Solar 2, and NightSky HD. BTA gets you Super Hexagon and Dungeon Defenders.

I missed out on Android HB1 and 2, so HB3 gave me HB1's games and HB4 gave me HB2's games (or somesuch). Wonder what week 2 will give users. Repeats, most likely? Still a good deal IMO.

Got my refund for Ark of the Ages. Game was a drag with really encouraging those in app purchases. I was hoping for a better blind buy when it was released but I had enough.

Edit: Sweet. Humble bundle goodness. Bought.

Addicted to Real Racing 3 at the moment, grinding my way up through the race series'.

Still plodding away at Nemo's Reef as well, though XP levels are long and sloooooow now.

I started playing this the other day just to kill some time and, while it does have IAPs you can use to speed things up, it's actually fairly liberal in dispensing the "premium" currency, not only as rewards for leveling, but also rewards for completing some quests. You won't get enough to buy any of the "premium" buildings, but you will get enough to cut out some of your wait time.

I'd say this is probably the best of the "design a park/city/etc." genre of games that I've played.

4th time I've bought Super Hexagon. LOL Solid bundle.

This is a good one! :) No games I already have.
