Android Gaming Thread New OP

God, my HTC One is showing it's age already. Keep getting stuttering while playing Bard's Tale and Sword and Sworcery. Framerates in other newer games are getting atrocious.

Oh that. Keeping my hopes up but my expectations reaaaaally low. Really want to see this out because I've already have had hands on with it on Android, so I don't get what the delay is.

Yea I don't get the delay either, seeing as how the games are already translated. I have small hope that we'll be playing it by 2014.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you just change the address to a US one and you're good to go. That's how it works for Amazon.com downloadable stuff usually

Not for the Amazon app store unfortunately.

You mean the brand new, top of the line HTC One?

It's not out in the states. I'm assuming he's talking about the One X

EDIT: Assuming the poster is in the states.

The One V actually.

Just finished Towelfight 2...

Well, what can I say really? It's like a diet Binding of Isaac, but with ridiculous explosions and a really stupid (but quite funny) sense of humour.

Hefty warning though, I tried to stick with it for an hour using the touch controls before deciding it was too frustrating, then switched to using my PS3 controller with a touch overlay. Instantly increased the playability of the game by a factor of a thousand.

10/10

Aw, I wish it worked properly on the Xperia Play. The controls got broken two versions ago and the patch for the XP did nothing at all. The controls used to be dpad to move, buttons to shoot, triggers to open map and clip editor, now it's dpad to shoot, [] moves down, O opens the menu and the other buttons do nothing.

Working for my Xperia Play. There's an option in the menu to change the controls to Xperia Play.

The OP sucks it hasn't been updated in a long time it's got recommendations like Angry Birds and Cut the rope and nothing of note. I would make a new thread but I've only recently got into the android ecosystem. Someone with a bit more knowledge should just make another thread and let this die.

Agreed. OP is perma-banned and one of the images in the first page is causing the malware warning. Time to start a new thread.

yeah a nice monthly one would be helpful, or something listing the top choices by month say from 2012 to now, then each month just add to it, then other Suggestions,

maybe by Genre would be nice too.

I've seen there is a #NEOGAF guild, 7th in the world. Who started it?. I can't participate in the arena, I don't have that ninja character :( .

It's a nice game, I've been playing a lot the last days.

I believe they made that when it came out a few weeks ago for iOS.

Touch Profiles for the SixAxisApp are incredible.. Why was I so late with this? My next phone is definitely going to have to be a powerhouse because I'm legit turning that into a gaming console. The Galaxy Nexus isn't fast enough to keep with games like MC4 without too much lag

There has been a lot of suggestions for a new or monthly thread but unfortunately no one has taken the initiative to create one. We need a brave pioneer to lead us out of this squalor!

Considering the iOS thread gets 20 pages in a month whereas this thread has had 100 pages in two and a half years, I don't think a monthly thread is necessary.

Maybe not a monthly thread, but at least a new OP would be nice. Maybe a 2013 edition?

I'm all for games on the Play Store, but I'd buy the Humble Bundle Android instead: It has The Room and 8 other games. It also has a Manager that will manage all your games (this is the fourth Android Bundle, so there are a couple)

At the time the bundle started it wasn't readily available by itself. And for people like me, I'd rather pay for one game that I know I'll play rather than 9 I don't think I'll ever play. Otherwise yeah, get the bundle.

A bunch of Disney apps (Wreck-it Ralph, Where's my Perry, Where's my Water, Temple Run: Brave, Puffle Launch, Its a Small World) come up as free in the appsales app. Did they switch to IAP or are they just free now?

Seems to be a pricing error. I couldn't complete a Where's My Water purchase, and now Wreck It Ralph shows up as 99 cents.

I hadn't noticed After Burner Climax is available again. I may try it later today.

EDIT: Uh. It's not too awesome. Oh well.

Anyone played anything close to civilization or a total war game (world map part)?

Only really seen that FreeCiv game but it sounds like its pretty clunky control wise.

What's wrong with it?
Controls are a train wreck, missions are incredibly short (as is the game as a whole). Also, maybe not too important, but text and buttons are tiny so I think it might be better on a tablet, will try it on my tablet later today to see if it's any better.

But yeah, mostly controls. This just made me want a new After Burner for 3DS :/

Oh man, that sucks. :( I was really excited to get it on my N7 too, maybe it's best to just get the PSN version if that's the case.
Do come back with impressions on how it works on a tablet!

Can't really knock the Android port for being short. The original version of Afterburner Climax is about 10 minutes long. Bad controls are a death sentence though.

Sega has been rather okay with its phone games, I wonder what went wrong with this one. Since I'm a phone gaming noob, is there a similar game that got the controls right out there?

After Burner Climax doesn't run very well on my original (overclocked) Asus Transformer, no that I expected any better :s
