It runs fine on my Xperia P, with occasional frame rate dips but that's apparently present even on current iPhone/iPad.

Scribblenauts Remix launched as an Amazon App Store timed exclusive yesterday. It'll be available on the Play store later this spring.

$0.99 for the game which includes 8 playgrounds and the first 5 puzzle worlds (50 levels total)
$0.99 IAP for all current and future world expansions
$0.99 IAP for each themed avatar pack

Anyone know of any good multiplayer games that can be played over LAN? I recently bought my nieces and nephews 4 cheapy Android tablets and was hoping to find a few good games for them. Google search yields little results, so I figured I'd get better answers here. I'm probably going to hook them all up to one Play account, I'm thinking.

Reviews looked terrible when I checked. Several people with Kindle Fires and so forth unable to complete the download or run the app or use the app even if it runs. :(

Sounds like that could be related to the Amazon market. I'm waiting for the play store, but someone I know who isn't so patient said it runs great on his Droid Razr HD.

LAN? Do you mean like local wifi multiplayer?

Minecraft

Are there any good city building games out on Android? Specifically similar to the SimCity series?

I see that there was a slimmed down port of SimCity 3 on the Play Store at one point (called SimCity Deluxe), but it has since been removed.

Yes, exactly. Something where they don't really have to connect to like a server to play, you know?

I'll load up Minecraft, too. I've been wanting to try it for a while now anyway. thanks!
looking for something similar.. but not local.
i want to know what are the best asynchronous games.

so far i got

battle friends at sea
super stick man golf 2

I'm interested in The Room but my the web Play Store claims my Razr M isn't compatible. I can't find it at all using the Play Store on my phone. What's the deal?

yeah, it failed to complete downloading twice on my Note 2 before it finally completed and installed. you would think Amazon had better servers than that!

I still think there should be a "mobile" thread, sometimes I go to the iOS thread because they're talking mostly about the same games anyway.

If I followed the gaming scene more, I would volunteer.
Same here. I wouldn't mind doing the thread, but I have about ten games installed on my phone, so I wouldn't be able to fill it with recommendations, and unless people don't mind a really spartan OP, I'd need suggestions.

There's a decent selection of iOS games that aren't available on Android, and a lot of the iOS chat focuses on Game Center, so it's best to have separate threads.

The Amazon free app of the day is Wargames: WOPR. It's pretty damn good. It's like another game I've heard people talk about, puzzle something. I'm sure you'll recognise it by the screenshot. Anyway, worth a shot if you're into that type of thing.

The compatibility for that game seems to be problematic for a lot of people. However, it seems like everyone with a decent device from the last 18+ months who got it from the Humble Bundle reports that it works fine. It plays perfectly on my phone and we have the same GPU and I think CPU. Hopefully they continue to add contemptible devices so everyone can play. It's quite good.

Completely unrelated, but my Photon Q finally has Jellybean as of this morning and I'm really happy with it.

What ever happened to the US version of Ace Attorney 123HD for iOS and Android?

All I can find is the same newsbit from December saying "yup, it's coming out for iOS in English on Early 2013 and we hope for Android as well!"

Any developments on that front?

Edit: Oh, development seems to be a mess. April was the last date we heard, but here we are, middle of April, and nothing yet:

It looks like Google will be adding game services directly into the platform. Android Police found info when looking into the Google Glass companion app which contains a whole lot of stuff unrelated to Glass, including the game stuff.

There are mentions of leaderboards, achievements, multiplayer, etc. I'm now looking forward to the upcoming Google I/O, but I hope this isn't just for the new version of Android that will take a year to spread to more than 15% of users like previous versions.

This sounds awesome. I made a thread here:

Most of KEMCO's RPGs are currently on sale for $0.99 through the 30th. I don't really play RPGs of this type so I have no clue which ones are worth picking up.

Square Enix's Demons' Score THD is also on sale at half off, which is $9.99, through the 25th. It's only for select Tegra 3 devices. Maybe if they built it for a larger market they wouldn't have to charge $20 for the game.

Just want to follow up on this and say that I had a real ball with this game. Low-key fun, and a nice difficulty ramp. Glad it was free, but definitely would have considered paying for it had I had a chance to try it first.

Guys, is any of the Kemco RPGs worth spending money on? They're currently on sale and while they all look like generic RPG Maker games they're cheap enough right now to make me think Dark Gate or Symphony of the Origin don't look like total crap. Has anyone played them?

How can I get older Gameloft titles? I'm curious about the early NOVAs and Modern Combats, but they seem to be impossible to figure out how to purchase.

The best one to get, though I suppose it fits your notion of "looks like crap", is Symphony of Eternity. Of them all, people seem to give it the most praise as far as the story goes. I'm currently playing Silver Nornir and its enjoyable. If you aren't sure, try Machine Knight as its free-to-play. Though I suppose it just depends on what you want in an RPG. Story? You can read through the comments people make on the Play Store and decide or find a review online, surely there are some. If you're looking for good graphics its probably best to look elsewhere as most of their games are SNES styled sprites and flat overworlds.

Personally, I love the retro style RPGs because, in my opinion anyway, they tend to have stronger story elements and/or deeper immersion aspects. Again, just my opinion.

Saw the PPSSPP 0.75 thread on the gaming side... shit is getting real.

Also, that will be awesome if Rockstar ports San Andreas to Android

Does the Worms 2 cross-platform works well?

I have a N4 and one friend with an One X and other with an iPhone 4s.

Would love to have this.

If not, what would anyone of youse recommend in this case?
