Whoah it has 3G and a capacitive screen too? This may truly be my next computer (was thinking of getting a netbook this Christmas), except....

No Android Market. :/ Grr, I like what Dell has done with the OS (taking a bit too many cues from Archos, it seems), except for the big URL bar, but the keyboard is absolutely luscious.

Android Market is a dealbreaker though. And 1300 mAh for a screen that big... probably isn't ideal...

Can you at least answer this question? Is it about Android, the Verizon Droid phone, or something else?

I believe iapetus usually has info in the Sony-Ericsson line.

Direct mailers being sent out! Phone looks good in that photo! I just want it to be thin enough for my pocket.

Does indeed look great in that pic. Lot more subdued gray instead of faux-black. I like.

I was thinking this as well.. The phoneset is probably already pretty large, and the decision could have been because of weight.

Damn it, I no longer know what I'm allowed to know and what I would be killed for revealing. :D

I'm crossing my fingers this is about Verizon introducing low-price plans for their Android line! Can you at least tell us how long until we know!

Even still, it still looks thinner than the flash version Archos 5 tablets. The exterior hardware, I have to say, is drool-worthy.

Here is new tmobile plan pricing- not sure if this is "project dark"

HkDwH.jpg

Apparently if you have a smartphone and want unlimited data you gotta add 10 to the plan price. Not so amazing any more.

On sprint we pay the same thing but we have unlimited calling to any cellphone and on t-mobile its only free to other t-mobile customers. No deal!!

sprint you pay 69.99: unlimited text, unlimited data, 450 minutes for landlines and unlimited calling to any cellphone on any network

Pay the same thing through t-mobiles new plan and you get 500 minutes but only free calling to other t-mobile phones. Pretty weak imo

Stupid leaks, we don't even know if thats the final price or not yet, but I'll tell you one thing, they've blocked Tmo news at work about 5 minutes after that post and we were all going nuts =\

Anyway I'm checking out a Cliq tonight and will have it for a while.

Moar reports even though Cliq is like YE OLDE NEWS now.

I wish they would have a voice + data plan. I don't need SMS when I have e-mail.
I wish they only charged for data instead of grouping SMS and Voice in a different category.

You can get that voice only plan and then pay 25 dollars to add data. That would be cheaper. That would make it 55 dollars. I send a lot of texts so that would not work for me.

Heres some more : http://gizmodo.com/5386951/leaked-details-on-t+mobile-project-dark

Sprint is looking better and better. They only thing that might keep me on T-mobile is a better Android phone down the pipeline. As much as I want the Rachel I doubt Sprint or T-mobile will get that phone.

So it's looking like the Moment and Sprint for me right now. I still have a few months to go though.

has their been a moment review yet? I may be tempted to switch to it from the hero.

I have been a sprint customer for a long time now and have loved it.

So what is the difference between data and web to T-mobile? Does web just mean downloading ringtones and wallpapers and shit?

Why not use Google Voice via e-mail? Works great for me (if you're willing to change your number, I guess).

FUCK. YES. Glad I stalled when I wanted to switch carriers.
only if you dont have a smart phone. You need to add 10 to that if you have a smartphone. If you have a normal device with limited capabilities its only 60

Am I getting this wrong. Seems to me what the ad says. Does not make since to have that addon if those plans already have smartphone data included. Also it explicitly has the word smartphone in it.

Still good just not sprint good :D . When tmo gets free unlimited calls to any cellphone on any network like sprint does then hit me up lol

I don't know why they went through so much to keep it secret, or why those in the know are acting like they hate those who leaked it... It's info, it would've been known before long anyways, and something like this is valuable to know as early as possible so more subscribers don't slip through TMo's fingers.

Noooooo....! :*(

Guess I might leave Tmo after all.

I think sprint really needs to run more commercials on this. They are really slumming. Most people i know who have the plans dont even know that they now can call any cellphone without a hit to their minutes.

Here is what i get for 69.99 on sprint

This plan includes

* Any Mobile, Anytime: Unlimited domestic calls from the Sprint network to and from ANY U.S. mobile phone regardless of carrier. Any network, any time.

* Unlimited data: Web surfing, email, BlackBerry Internet Services (BIS), GPS Navigation, Music Premier, TV Premier, NFL Mobile Live, NASCAR Sprint Cup MobileSM
* Unlimited messaging: Text, pictures and video
* Talk: Night calling and weekends starting at 7 p.m., nationwide long distance and no roaming charges

450 minutes (only needed for landlines now)

The "new" Tmo pricing doesn't look all that different from what I'm already paying. I get 1000 minutes (much more than adequate), unlimited text and web (Android Plan) for $70.

I guess the new stuff is the Flex pay and phone payment plan.

this is what i pay for o2 Germany:

Talk: 12€ unlimited calls in o2 and normal telephone
SMS: 5€ unlimitted SMS in o2
Data: 10€ Flatrate with 3G speed

17€ for everything

You guys pay way tttoooo much. This is crazy.

Yep, we pay way too much, but we'll get there.. TMobile and Sprint are pushing their prices down and it's forcing the other carriers to follow.

I have the myFaves plan, and it's more than enough for me. But this new pricing scheme doesn't seem very appealing. Sprint seems way more appealing because their network is better, and they have a much better plan. Even if the myFaves is enough for me, there's no reason not to try and get in on that Spring Everything plan while the pricing is still good. Then I can get grandfathered in with a plan that's honestly too good to be true. PEACE.

Hmm...2 individual 500+unlimited text+web plans, compared to the equivalent family plan, total cost $20 less a month and give you 250 more total minutes and don't require a commitment. Am I missing something or is the family plan a ripoff?

Some people on engadget are saying that the Moment does not have a compass. If thats the case you cannot use it for augemented reality apps or anything that needs to know which way your are facing. That would be ultra shitty if true.

They did an unboxing today so I am expecting a review very soon.

On October 26, Provincial legislation in Ontario Canada states that no one who is driving can use a wireless device unless it's handsfree.. I'm trying to find a good voice activated dialing app for Android and I'm coming up empty handed..

Any suggestions??

Rest assured, it isn't about that.

Most lines these days, actually. On a good day, some people in this thread would kill to see the inside of my top desk drawer. ;)

Enjoy it. I love mine. :D

I have to say, though I was pretty much veering towards Sprint anyway for a few reasons(including their awesome $69 plan), your personal enthusiasm really sold me on getting the HTC Hero :)

Had it since last friday, and love it, and i'm sure i've hardly tapped into it. I have to get used to having a smartphone period. Just tooled around with some apps...I love RingDroid. I through a few mp4 youtube vids on it and they play perfectly. I just tried a comic viewer which is pretty cool tool(i have a bunch of x-men cdr/cdz files). Layar was pretty funny too.

I guess i should get a 16GB micro SD SDHC card...the phone supports up to 32GB right? Though there aren't any on the market yet?

I need to pick up a memory card too and will probably get 16gb have not seen any 32gb cards yet. They may exist...

My most used app is becoming Google Listen. I have an ipod that i usually sync to podcasts but i forget to sync sometimes. This alleviates that because i can stream podcasts anywhere. Also, npr has hourly news podcasts and when i am walking back to my apartment i can catch up on the daily news without having to sync before i leave school. Great stuff :-D

Well according to some sites (TechCrunch) Google is about to launch a streaming and/or download music site and/or program to "compete" with iTunes. Supposedly, and aptly, called, Google Audio.

Oh and also there are reports around the web that HTC is facing a shortage of Heroes, which should be alleviated by mid-November. Hopefully this pushes them even more into the direction of Android.

Those TMO plans suck. I'm getting a better deal than that now on a family plan.

BTW what happened to neogaf on secondapps? I'm getting 404s.

So what do you think the droid will cost?
And what is the cheapest smartphone plan verizon has for unlimited data + unlimited texting + around 500 minutes.

I'm on a family plan with my dad now, but I might have to get my own contract if I want this droid.

FUCK. YES. Glad I stalled when I wanted to switch carriers.

According to what I read on Engadget, that $60 price is only for the non-contract plan. That means you have to pay full price for your phone (or keep an old one). If you want the 2-year contract with phone subsidy, they charge $80 / month.

Sprint's EPRP plan gives you 50 less minutes, but you get free navigation, free TV streaming, unlimited calls to any mobile carrier and you get the phone subsidy for $60 / month. They also have a much better 3G network than T-Mobile, free roaming on Verizon's network, and arguably a better smartphone lineup.

I was really hoping that T-Mobile was going to undercut Sprint to force some sort of price war, but if these plan details are really legit then I can't see it putting much pressure on any of the other carriers. It really only seems to be good for people who want to buy unlocked iPhones and put them on T-Mobile's network.

my sentiments exactly. I was trying to preach in here earlier lol

So do you guys get a commission from Sprint or something? If not, you should. I remember during the summer they were offering $150 cash for transfers from TMO.

they need to pay me. I could use some extra cash. living off this grad school stipend lol.

I'm confused about those TMO prices.

* 500 + Unlimited Text + Unlimited Web – $60

So that's for regular phones? Not for something like a Cliq? You'd have to add $10 if you had a Cliq? Because right now it's $29.99 for 300 minutes and $35.99 (what the fuck) for unlimited data + web for the Sidekick. So $65.

That 's 200 more minutes for $5 less. But if you have to add $10 more, it doesn't sound as good as it originally was rumored.

If this is seriously it then my mind is made up: moving to Verizon.
