Side-note: It appears the Nexus One has already been rooted.

Time will tell.SimleuqiR said:You don't have to. Just get the phone for $530.00, no need to lose your grandfathered plan.
I think the rumor of the phone being sold under only one contract is true. T-mobile themselves have spent a lot of money promoting the myTouch 3G and I don't think they want the Nexus taking away from that.
From the looks of the leaked screen-shot it looks like even the subsidized version will be sold through Google. So T-mobile will not be showing this phone on their site. :-/ Thus I don't believe there will be more plans available for this phone, at least for a while.
I'm buying one on Tuesday, if they are selling them. I will just have to get a no contract plan.

Are they 3rd party or part of 2.1?

What that means--- is that the 404 not found error is gone... the url is registered into Google DNS (most likely) and the page/url is now just not active which is why it went from a "404 Page not found" error page to a Google sanctioned "Oops! We cannot find that page!" which means it's just not switched on yet.SimleuqiR said:Really? I'm still getting the error. :-/

That's LOLworthy if true. So no even AT&T gets it first? For shame. PEACE.SimleuqiR said:

Been here longer than most members, and probably most mods. It's stood the test of time. People will complain about piddling shit forever. I don't need to pay them any mind. I've been doing it for 15+ years (since usenet) so... "from my cold, dead hands." PEACE.Battersea Power Station said:That's definitely a strange move.
By the way, what satisfaction do you get from the PEACE thing? How come it doesn't matter to you that it's aggravating to the forum members? Is it simply a "I'll do what I want to and everyone else can mind their own business" attitude?
Jube3 said:Im heading tommorow to go pick up a Samsung Moment, is there anything I should know about the phone before getting it? I did a search in this thread and didnt come up much but im excited about it because of the full keyboard and android OS.
Mw182006 said:Please post your thoughts once you've had some time with it, I was excited for this one to come out since it's the only decent android phone sprint offers with a hard keyboard afaik. I never got around to checking it out in person since the reviews put me off a bit. It's running 1.5 and isn't scheduled to get the update to 2.1 until "1st half 2010" per the last update I saw from Sprint. If nothing decent comes out of CES for sprint I'll probably grab one myself for the time being...any android phone has to be better than my old flip.

Rogers Wireless confirms Android software updates for select phones
Cliff Notes Version: Dream to get 1.5 update, Magic to get 2.1 w/Sense update. Way to go Rogers.
Rogers is 32A/EBI1, which means it's essentially a Hero without the 5MP camera.Andrex said:Magic's getting 2.1? Guess it doesn't count as "first generation." Of course, I think the Rogers version has more RAM than the MyTouch.

GoldenEye 007 said:I've come to be completely accustomed with an on-screen keyboard with the iPhone so a physical keyboard is not a requirement for me at all. I've never actually used a cell phone type physical keyboard before anyway, so no loss there.
I think I've settled on T-Mobile due to the hardware advantage over Sprint in the near term; I can't keep bleeding with AT&T waiting on Sprint into the summer, or even this spring for that matter. I'll just try to use the Sprint rates as a bargaining chip when I setup T-Mobile. I've done all the calculations with taxes and discounts and worse-case I would be stuck paying about $7-$10 more than Sprint per month. Hopefully I can get them to a least match Sprint rates.
This Tuesday will be really interesting with any Nexus One info.
Edit: Any comments on the quailty of T-Mobile service/coverage in the Orlando/East Orlando(UCF) area? Coverage maps indicate great coverage with 3G and maybe EDGE in most areas. But any real world comments?

Manmademan said:no, the everything plus 500 plan is technically a referral only plan, and doesn't show up on the website. In theory, you need to know a sprint employee and go through a specific website.
HOWEVER, in practice for promotional purposes, one of the company's VP's made his sprint ID available to anyone in the public that wants to take advantage of the offer. I'm at work and can't search as well as I'd like to here (constant interruptions) but I've posted it before, and can repost the info again if you're interested. It's 50 more minutes than the everything 450 for $10 less per month, so there's no reason not to take advantage of it.
edit: here's the info.
If you didn't get on SERO deal, but would like to get on the Everything Plus Plan, Sprint's VP of Strategy Russ McGuire had posted his email and last 3 digits of the employee ID so people can get on the deal.

Email: russ.s.mcguire@sprint.com
Last 3 digits of employee ID: 383

GSMArena said:We just got tipped with a new shot of an unannounced Sony Ericsson phone. We don’t mind getting images of unknown phones and actually we love taking quick peeks at what's cooking right now. Especially when it's phones as cute as the Robyn - an Android smartphone that rightfully deserves a name along the lines of XPERIA X10 mini.
After the QWERTY-equipped Kanna that we told you a few days back, the Robyn is the second Sony Ericsson device that surfaces this year.
The Sony Ericsson Robyn looks exactly like the already announced Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10, but only… twice as smaller. The cutie still packs a touchscreen and runs the Android OS.
