Each one is so different from the last, however, so it comes down to carrier and personal preference.

6:17PM Full Flash 10.1 experience -- not Flash Lite. In practice, that means that you'll get hardware-accelerated compatibility with pretty much any Flash applet you encounter on the interwebs.
6:14PM Flash on Android. He's demoing the New York Times -- "as you can see, all the components are there." We see what you're doing, Erick. Very clever.

I'd be annoyed because (a) it means we've been saddled with the Hero and Moment for far too long. It also means that Sprint is getting outfoxed by T-Mo and Verizon, and it's only a matter of time before AT&T passes them. We've only got two Android phones, so AT&T doesn't have a lot of ground to cover. FFS, Sprint, you have the best damn network with the best rates. I'd take a new phone unsubsidized if nothing else. Tell Palm to go shove it. PEACE.Jayge said:If the Supersonic is the only android phone Sprint picks up by Summer I'm gonna be pissed. Why people need screens bigger than 3.7" on a phone is beyond me.

Android update! Upgrades to 2.1 for Hero/Moment now expected early 2Q10. Currently working through options for upgrades w/ HTC and Samsung.
Not only that, but the Hero was bested by the Droid Eris before it even had a chance, and Sprint is still charging more for a Hero + 2 year contract (more than double, actually) than Verizon is for the Eris (although Verizon is more expensive on its own) even after all this time. If I could buy an unlocked Eris I probably would and then I'd sit and wait on Sprint for a while until they got a phone I really wanted, but the American phone market is balls.Pimpwerx said:I'd be annoyed because (a) it means we've been saddled with the Hero and Moment for far too long. .there will indeed be two versions of the Adam -- one which will be 12.9 mm thick and boast the Pixel Qi 3Qi e-paper screen, and another, thinner, non-Pixel Qi screen. The thinner, lighter version will measure in at 11.6 mm thick. As far as we know, the only difference in the two Tegra-powered Adams will be the display, and we also hear they are shooting for a third quarter of 2010 launch.

Oh don't worry about it, lord knows I'm far too lazy to produce anything like this, I was just wondering if there was going to be a new one :lolAndrex said:Thanks for posting this.
Edit- Awww third quarter? They said before it'd be in June.
Should be, but isn't. Please forgive the delay, lots of phones (and non-phones) have been added onto the stack lately.

I have a T-Mobile MyTouch (don't know what the actual name is) and I like Android, and love the touch screen, but I really miss a physical keyboard.
Is there a phone like the Droid that I can use with a T-Mobile SIM card with those features? And yes, I know next to nothing about phones and phone related technology.
I don't know, but I bet you can cross Sprint off that list.Outdoor Miner said:Which US provider will be offering the HTC Legend?

Ah. That makes a lot of sense. A friend of mine with the G1 said that his screen got scratched up pretty badly in his pocket after a week or two, so I'd get some screen protectors (I don't think the G1 is made of gorilla glass or any other special type although I'm not sure).BlueMagic said:Well, as it turns out, the only Android phone that has officially landed on Argentina is the Milestone, which is 300 US$ with a shitty, shitty plan. Every single other Android device never even saw the light here. The only way to get them is ordering them unlocked, via the internet or something. Considering the shipping, customs fee, etc, you end up paying about 500-600 US$ for an unlocked G1. You can imagine how much a Nexus One is, unlocked (hint: it's more than 1000 US$).
So if anyone is kind enough to sell me a better android device for a good price, let me know.
Though I got a nice deal on this used G1, about 250 US$ with a couple of extras. It's from a guy that used to live in the USA.
Also, any tips for the phone?

Well with Verizon the only Android choices atm are the Motorola Droid which is a pretty cool phone with a physical QWERTY keyboard but wish the layout of the keys were spaced it's kind of hard to type without pressing other keys.MrPliskin said:Okay, I'm out of my element here, being a HUGE WebOS 'fanboy', but my Roommate is looking for a new phone.
He's a Verizon Subscriber, so I recommended the Pre Plus (bias total). He's not really into the phone (hasn't used it though) but he's interested in the Android phones, obviosly the ones that Verizon offers.
So, do you guy's have any recommendations? I don't know much about the OS (pro's, cons, etc) so I'm looking for guidance to give him a good idea of what he's getting.
WebOS Fanboy, out.

I like the look of the one Sony X10 mini, but I hate the fact that all the X10s seem to be running 1.6, and they aren't even out yet.
Honestly this in general is what bugs me most about the android platform. I just wish updates came out faster, and more more mandatory. I think everything at this point should be running 2.0 +.
That doesn't seem to be the case though with Froyo in the wings, rumor of 2.2 in at least one upcoming device and the fact Flash support is apparently imminent, according to reports from MWC.Andrex said:or maybe they promised they wouldn't release a new version for a while, or something,
if someone buys the x10 with 1.6 they can update to 2.1 when it's out? like OTA or something?Andrex said:What's odd is everything is skipping to Android 2.1. Even the Samsung Moment and the freaking ODROID are getting 2.1. I don't know what happened, maybe Google said to the manufacturers "You guys should update to 2.1 now," or maybe they promised they wouldn't release a new version for a while, or something, but tons of devices are getting 2.1 soon.
And 1.6 isn't so bad. It has widgets, it has resolution support, is has the new Android Market, it has universal search, and lots of other features.
DMPrince said:if someone buys the x10 with 1.6 they can update to 2.1 when it's out? like OTA or something?
Totakeke said:The issue is when would it be out. The hardware manufacturers themselves have to implement the new versions and release the update before you can update your phone.
Which is why I think it's just better to get a phone from Google directly from now on especially if you want up to date features, unless you have other specific needs in mind.
