Android is still a 2nd class citizen to several devs.
I must be lucky in that no app I use seems to be in that boat. Some seem to be more ahead on Android though.
Snapchat already came up in the discussion, but many apps never make it to Android, or arrive long after their iOS release (take Mario Run as an example).
much of the sales of Android phones come from high end devices, but I'm 99% confident it's not the majority.
I say all this as an Android user who's part of the problem, as I have never bought an Android app.
Edit: to clarify, I haven't pirated apps either. I actually barely use apps, aside from the usual social network and Microsoft's Office, for which I pay a 365 subscription.
they should stick to selling videogames.
this thread in a nutshellTalk about hyperbole
Google making the only phone worth a damn this year. They need to fix that camera though. It looks out of place.
XZ1C will be announced on August 31 =)

RED phone isn't coming out this yearNot interested in the Red phone?
I need some help guys. I'm about the get my first smartphone, but I can't really find one that has all the stuff I want.
My brother has the Axon 7 and he likes it and from what I've seen I dig it as well plus the 350 is a good price. Now I have looked at some phones (Samsung Galaxy, HTC U11, Huawei, 1+, Google Pixel, LG, Moto ....) and the LG G6 was the one I was the leaning towards the most due to the screen size/resolution, price, overall quality and customization, but after hearing LG having bootloop that also includes this phone I got turned off of it so I'm back to the Axon 7 again. I looked at the Samsung Galaxy S8, but the build quality (case and display cracking after falling down etc) and the huge price concerns me, the HTC U11 is expensive and has no headphone jack.
So I'm looking for a phone that cost at most 500, has 5.5" display and the resolution is at least higher than full hd, headphone jack of course and overall good quality build so not something like Samsung (cracking display/case) and LG (bootloop).
Google Pixel and the 1+5 is no go for me, since it's expensive and only full hd.
ps. Are there any upcoming phones in the coming months I should be looking out for? If so I could wait.
pps. I'm going to use the phone for a long time 6+ years.

Rumored to be running 8.0who cares if it comes out pre-8.0
I will admit, I did finally get to use a Pixel for a little bit earlier this week (a user had one) and holy shit is the thing like BUTTER. I have a 6P and the Pixel puts it to shame. And badly.
Pixel 2 XL will be ours friend
Speaking of which. Im doing some research on xda and it seems like flashing Europe fw on us xz premium has negative impact on signal strength?
Sony dude, it's not hard to sell me on a new phone, but man.
No phone is gonna last that long besides like an iPhone.
Maybe look at a LG V20 because that allows you to swap batteries?
Xperia XZ Premium ?!?!?=D
you can set it to always display 4k with a simple hackWell maybe not 6 years (3-5 years), just until I can't use it anymore. I'm not the guy who upgrades something every two years or so.
Regarding LG, weren't it for the bootloop issue I'd go for it besides the V20 isn't available for whatever reason in europe (germany).
I've looked into it but from what I've seen it's mostly in full hd, only some stuff and the camera is in native 4k.
I highly doubt it'll last this year and I'm not spending over $1,500 on a Android phone. Screw that. Not interested in the Red phone?
I told you Pixel will be in your future. It's the only logical upgrade from a 6P. I bet it'll have an amazing camera too.I will admit, I did finally get to use a Pixel for a little bit earlier this week (a user had one) and holy shit is the thing like BUTTER. I would, but he is spelling Ruben wrong so...Still waiting on the Rubinphone
Disgusting. It's Kfc AND in red. Should be a criminal offense.
It's not Popeyes so Huawei is taking an L.that phone is a major go
My confidence in that phone being real is falling every day.Still waiting on the Rubinphone

Scratch that with the higher than full hd and 5.5" display requirement, since I wasn't aware that the battery life isn't that durable, I'm looking for a phone that has a good battery life (3500 mAh at the very least).
Xiaomi Mi Mix is something that caught my eye, bad sadly it doesn't support the LTE band 20.

1+5 or 1+3T then? They're cheap, have good battery life and 5.5" displays.
Resolution doesn't hit battery life much. Software is most of the factor.
Nah, that was just a requirement (full hd) I set but dropped it since it's also fine and restrict the choices for finding a phone.
Coming back to the bootloop issue, which worries me somewhat. How usual is this and is there a fix for it?
Scratching for new Pixel 2 updates.. This is going to be a long wait, isn't it?
Rip. Dropped it on the sharp edge of a thick glass table.
The s8 had a good run.
The cracked part is the part that hit the edge of the table, case doesn't cover it.
There was just a single dead line of pixels where the crack is, but then the whole bottom half went white a few minutes later. I didn't buy the insurance thing because I never drop phones. Wonder how much this will end up costing.
I recall reading about $200ish?The cracked part is the part that hit the edge of the table, case doesn't cover it.

When I dropped my S7 in a river last year I think I paid about $150-170 to get a replacement with T-Mobile's insurance.I recall reading about $200ish?
