Still haven't found a replacement for muh majestic Sony Xperia Z3 Compact.
It's still working well, except for the amount of RAM... I use quite a lot of apps and hence I notice this shortage often.

I'm interested in buying one with minimal bezels. So I can have a 5" screen but, thanks to minimal bezels, the overall size would be still quite compact.

So I'm really waiting for minimal bezels to become mainstream... Gonna take a while I guess.

So try number 2 and it's fully restored and looks a lot nicer in white

I know i'll probably never use it but it's nice to restore it and have a little blast from the past of my first Nexus

I know it has a larger screen, but those dimensions mean it is even larger than the Pixel XL and considerably wider. I can't imagine it to be very comfortable to hold. I guess this really is the spiritual successor to Shamu. Meanwhile the Pixel 2 is going to be even taller (If only slightly so) than the Pixel as if they couldn't fit stereo speakers in the already obscene bezel.

I gotta hand it to Rubin. I think the Essential Phone is perfect in that it isn't too large to be unwieldy and yet still packs a big display.

They going to announce XZ1 compact at the end of next month

Stero speakers back on Pixel 2 XL? So day 1, single speaker was the worst downgrade I ever had on a phone.

And flat screen to the edge on the P2. Finally compatible to glass screen protectors. Sadly the P2XL won't have that :(

You know at some point I don't get why Google just partner with reuben and call the essential the next pixel lol.

At the very least Google warranty is good. I want a essential but I can't imagine returns and warranty stuff being pleasant.

I kinda want one on the front and one on the bottom like what some HTC phones have. I never use speakers for music, but that way I can never cover up both speakers when my phone is lying in bed charging.

Give it some Nougat

#blackerthanbezels

I was gonna load a custom ROM on there but theres no point lol I'm gonna leave it stock until I'm forced to us it as either a go between or I break something.

Saying that though I let it update to Lollipop and then it updated to 5.1 then 5.1.1 and it's doing security updates one by one I just shut it off and let it at that point.

Kinda weird to see it having Lollipop and still have the AOSP launcher.

Carrier exclusivity (to one I'm not on) and no headphone jack are deal breakers for me. Don't know if the former will be true, but if these renders are real, I won't be getting this even if it does come to at&t.

Don't give a fuck about a camera bump, though. That's the dumbest reason to not buy a phone, especially a bump that insignificant.

So what is the game changer for android O? google phones finally getting minor tweaks for nav buttons? Notifications having color?

That gamepad for theZ2 is hot. When it bombs and becomes <400 and they toss in a free gamepad with purchase I'm gonna be all over it.
its annoying that every year they just package in the worst mod option lol.

who needs a speaker that faces the wrong way, or a shitty camera attachment that is panned in every review.

Maybe throw in a battery mod? But thats the one they want you to pay for, or why else are they keep shrinking battery lol

5.1.1 is really old. Can't remember what the last month was that it got security updates, but it was a loooong time ago.

Glass phones are too slippery. I need cases just to hold them without feeling like they are going to jump out of my hand and shatter themselves on the nearest wall all the time.

I'm probably going to get NOTE 8 THE OCHO unless something incredibly weird happens. I'll probably switch to T-Mobile before the end of the year so I can get the International version with Exynos too.

Qualcomm sucks

The only thing you don't get by not using the T-Mobile branded Note 8 is VoLTE and I have it on my Note 4 right now and it's almost the least exciting thing ever. You can otherwise use Band 12 just fine on non-branded devices which support the band.

I nearly jumped for joy when I saw that T-Mobile was offering a Motorola phone (I'd love to have the Moto Z Play but I want to keep T-Mobile's wifi calling)...

But then I saw it was that scratchy, clicky Z2 Force phone. :(

Who knows, maybe the phone will be hyper efficient like the Z Play and still have really good battery life even with a smaller battery, but I'm not holding my breath.

htc11 has similar specs and the battery is 'average', and even that battery is bigger than the z2 force lol.

Just get the $80 battery mod.

Is it worth getting a bootlooped Nexus 5X replaced through LG? Their repair process seems like a hassle and I don't see the point in going through with it only to end up with a phone that could suffer the same fault at any point in time.

its definetely better than keeping it bootlooping, right?

On top of the price their already selling that thing? Nah. Z Play was basically my dream phone, it just wasn't on the right network. Great performance for the price (smoother than my S7) and the battery was incredible. Moto mods seem convenient, but I always put cases on my phones which would make those difficult and I can just as easily get a $20-50 small USB battery charger that can charge other stuff too.

In all honestly I think I'll wait a few months to see what Apple does with the iPhone this year, or see if the Note 8 ends up being.

And even then, I'm getting a bit sick of paying so much for phones, especially Android when they drop in price so fast.
