Angry Joe Responds to MS DRM

which is the consumer deciding what to purchase with their money

Of course he's a fanboy, but even being such a fanboy didn't blind him to the bullshit M$ was trying to sell us

In parts 1 & 2 he was louder than any Sony fanboy could hope to get

Did you watch the Reverse DRM vid?

He even complains about the stuff they took out. He's not praising it all now just because they reversed DRM

Yes, i agree, but this does´nt change the fact the he is happy now that MS i back in tha game and he can finally buy an Xbox One. That makes the other 2 videos a rational fanboys lament.

I like him because of this because most of the time he manages to regulate his fanboyism and focus on games, that´s why i ask about a Sony youtuber counterpart, to keep it balanced.

It's so cool that they reversed their policies.

.......but........

Why do I not feel compelled to celebrate? Why do I still feel like I dont trust MS after all this??

Is it just me?

Not just you.

Just because a thief changes his mind during a robbery, doesn't mean they didn't try to jack your ass in the first place.

Did you even watch his recent video? You must be confusing AngryJoe with someone else.

What you talking about this guy has never in his life played PS consoles. He is extremely giddy thinking his video was a factor.

None or the fan feedback was a factor, they been saying dont do it since before PS4 was revealed, MS didnt listen to that they went on selling their DRM life of xbox went all the way to E3 and out still supporting this vision.

Then the real feedback happened, the Shareholders got the lower than expected figures and called for sudden changes, their entire control of Xbox one idea scrapped, no more steam wannabe structure. The box now has no identity and if does is another hated part "tv sports tv sports"

Joe is giddy and happy because he doesnt have to get a PS console.

I feel you, but don't fall into the trap of thinking the other companies wouldn't fuck you over if they felt they could get away with it.

I'm not against anyone trying to make a profit. It is how they go about it with their actions is what concerns me the most. I think I own over 300 Steam games now. I'm used to buying digital. But Valve gives me a carrot alongside the stick. With not only great prices but also extra features like easy to install mods. I understood the point of people wanting used games, but I don't believe I've bought a used game in the last 5 years. Of course I play most of my games on PC. With prices so good (even at launch) I haven't felt compelled to own a used game in a long time. I guess the easy way to say it is I just don't trust MS the same way I do Valve to do it right.

You have perfectly good reason not to trust a company that tried to throw the first sales doctrine out the window and enforce always online DRM. Its wonderful they decided not to go through with this, but the fact that they thought it up and were ready to go full blast in the first place is unsettling.

So people can't be happy when a company does the right thing? If you look at it neutrally this is a big win for gamers/consumers. It is a joyous occasion unless you are cheerleading the competition and want less competition. The X1 does have interesting games well worth playing.

This ain't Angry Joe! Where's the Angry (not at the beginning =P)

Everytime i see his face i wanna punch it, k.o him out.

Damn at that Angry Joe video

"Shut up, everyone's a moron! Well f*** you!"

No, not everyone but you surely are.

I stopped the video after he said that.

He's not saying everyone is a moron. Just people like Cliffyb and ones who were defending DRM and butt-hurt over losing family share. Maybe you should watch the whole video before commenting?

This is completely false and the video proves it. You didn't even watch it What the fuck.

He talks about getting both and supporting playstation because of this entire mess.

And the feedback was the shitty pre-orders. Now what do you think caused that? Surely not people like joe and the whole no drm campaign and other media outlets bringing it up right?

No people just magically found all that stuff out on their own. Right sure.

Angry Joe or just very, very excited Joe? Still good to see someone who actually cares. Chuckled a little when he referenced back to what Major Nelson said to him and low and behold a week later...

It's so cool that they reversed their policies.

Well maybe because it's not like this is added value but just the norm being restored. No one should be applauding Microsoft for reversing their decision but maybe remind them to look at what their customers value and how they consumer their media.

I think we should be ever vigilant that this isn't slowly introduced back in little by little as time goes on.

What constitutes a "nice living"? How much are we talking annually?

The biggest Youtube Star make 300-400 K a year. A guy like Philly D make enough to support 10-12 people in his studio.
Charles Trippy made a Vlog every day for the last 4 years. He do not work, and neither does his wife and he still live really well.

A guy from Ontario made 10 K a month by destroying cars on his farm.

You haven't watched the video have you? He said that he's going to get both now.

You don't think any of the fan feedback might've influenced people's pre-orders? Obviously that was more than likely the main thing for Microsoft but it was definitely influenced by fan feedback.

I think he's more happy that gamer's voices make a difference in this day and age, and now that the field is level again, competition between the 2 companies means good things for the consumer.

Obviously he's a big fan of M$, but not such a fanboy were he would turn a blind eye to Sony especially after standing up to consumer rights

I only watched the first half, but dude is pretty spot on. Funny, too.

They did it to save their ass not for your benefit, they hate that their vision wasnt even in stores before it got crushed.

Xbox one now has nothing that makes it different than PS4,
It lost its identiy which was the vision MS was focusing to have a
steam like situation in the living room.

Joe is too happy for obvious reasons

Clearly you didn't watch the video till the end because he stated that he is getting both.

Not only that, he stated that he *might* get both now that Xbox is actually a viable choice, but is definitely sticking with the PS4. Gotta love that 90% of the negativity in this thread comes from people who clearly haven't even seen the whole video and are just making wrong assumptions about things explicitly stated in the video.

Find it hilarious so many people bought into family sharing and cloud gaming despite no solid info on either of them.

- Family sharing, if it even exists can still be done. DRM should have nothing to do with this
- Games can still take full advantage of "cloud" without 24hr check ins. All you need to do is put "internet required" on those lovely green boxes. Simple right?

Funny thing is they could have gotten away with it if the entire PR team didn't fuck up the messaging for a whole month. Good thing they did though.
