Wow, this is really ugly, I remember it took several MONTHS for the grass to come back.

Just wanted to expound on this a little for people concerned about others doing this.
It has in past series entries been true that such an animal, wearing offensive clothing, saying offensive things, carrying and showing offensive letters may move to your town. When you find this happening, you should be able to report said animal's issues—it was Pelly before in CF, now I think Isabelle handles this—in-game and that animal's offensive content will be reset. I think! I've never had to do it before. :lol
For me personally, I will be minimizing my contact with people with the, uh, "harder" ratings, just to minimize how often I have to do this. No offense intended, but I'll be playing with family too, and I'd rather not spend the whole time being content policeman.

So it sounds like they didn't think much towards the long term. If there's no way to reverse it, or it happens too fast, that's bad. I liked the feature because of the likeness it makes to a real town, and real towns don't because deserts that easily. I hope things work out better for this version.

Reportedly, it's not. The grass is hardier and grows back a lot faster.

Most likely keeping the system in Sleep mode and the gate open when I am not playing. Don't fuck up my town, please.
Ha, I made an Animal Crossing Community account and its nice finding a lot of AC fans to play with it but I just don't feel comfortable playing with anyone younger than 18.
In Summer it takes like a month or two of not playing to grow back (then you have weeds everywhere too) but during Winter they made grass growing slower meaning it never grew back during then. Apparently it's "better" in New Leaf from what I asked by JP players, but they never went into more detail. I'm hoping it's not a complete mess like in New Leaf.
I think you can change mine to PG-13.

Never played an AC game before, getting pretty hyped up for this one. Threw my name on the Friend Code list, can't wait to see some towns VASTLY MORE IMAGINATIVE than mine. I guarantee mine will be lackluster.
