I first heard of Animal Crossing back in early 2004. A guy on one of the message boards I frequented back then had imported the Australian version and posted a daily journal of sorts. The more I heard about the game, the more I absolutely loved it. So when it finally released in Europe months later, it was a joyous day. I think this was one of the first times where I had been really hyped on a game.
And it was such an amazing game, too. I distinctly remember seeing it snow for the first time on s November day. And having animal camp out in igloos in the winter. And the arrival of spring at last. So damn good. And kittycat meow mix at 1 PM!

Thanks for the videos guys, the songs sound awesome in New Leaf. Though I don't think one of them will beat my favourite one : Animal Crossing GC - 1 AM (and it is actually 1 am now in France).

New Leaf uses a custom cartridge because of how big the save is, doesn't it? It was out of stock in Japan for a while because of that...

That said I'm sure I read somebody in the thread for the promotion talking about it showing up before the email arrived where the banner for the promo was when you're signed into Club Nintendo.

Suffice to say that I'm excited about this game. I used to play the original GameCube release a lot, and I still hold it close to my heart. As a fun little factoid, my birthday is on the 15th ( of June ), while the release of New Leaf is on the 14th ( here in Europe ). A perfect birthday-gift for myself, then.
