Today marks the 20th anniversary of the premiere of Animaniacs.

One of the most endearing, charming and funniest shows of the 90s, animated or otherwise.

This is a thread to celebrate Yakko, Wakko and Dot, The Warner Bros and Warner Sister too. And their crazy friends including Pinky and the Brain, Slappy Squirrel, Runt and Rita, and the Goodfeathers!

Just to get the ball rolling. We all remember the Nations of the World Song

Parody that first comes to mind, Super Strong Warner Siblings

Share your memories and links to this amazing show.
And happy birthday!

Rob Paulsen's Talkin' Toons podcast has become a favorite of mine over the past few months. It's the only one where I'm reluctant to delete any episodes due to their replay value.

There's one with Randy Rogel where they perform several songs they've worked on together over the years, including the Nations of the World song (with bonus verse!) that is absolutely fantastic.

EDIT: Here it is - Link

One of the greatest ever, I still pop in the dvds now and then and will leave it on the HUB now and then if flipping through.

I still watch the reruns from time to time on the Boomerang channel, here in NY on Optimum Cable. Nostalgia overload for sure.

The best example of mixing in adult humor with a child-friendly show. Not just the raunchy stuff, but the adult-oriented references and social commentary; both of which it executed as well as adult-focused cartoons, yet with the heart, charisma, and charm that those nearly always lack. Timeless characters, memorable songs, and segments that still hold up as comedic genius, all in a "kids' show" package. The only shame is that the Warners/Pinky and the Brain outshone the other characters so much.

Made an agreement with another GAF member, refused to honor it because he was broke, but then had no problem continuing to buy video games.

This show had so much sexual inneundo.

Yakko: "Everyone. Dust for prints."
Dot: "I found Prince!"
Yakko: "Nooooo. Fingerprints."
Dot *Looks at Prince* "I don't think so." *Throws Prince out a window.*

Such a great show, it's too bad they don't make cartoons like this anymore. Don't get me wrong, show like Regular Show and Adventure Time are cool, but they don't even come close to Animaniacs.

Thats because now they make stupid cartoons for stupid people. Animaniacs, Tiny Toons Adventures, old Warner Brothers were stellar and well written.

That's the key...the shows were what they were. I didn't get the impression ever that they were trying to sell me toys, make me go watch a movie, or any other way to make me part with my money. They simply existed and did what they wanted to do, not what they were told to do. I could be wrong about that last bit, but damned if most of the episodes didn't get me laughing.
