Animaniacs’ Reboot Gets Two-Season Straight-To-Series Order At Hulu

Yakko, Wakko and Dot are coming back. A rebooted version of the Peabody and Emmy-winning cartoon Animaniacs has gotten a two-season straight-to-series order at Hulu, with original series EP Steven Spielberg returning as executive producer, for premiere in 2020
In addition, Hulu and Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution inked a new pact that makes Hulu the exclusive streaming home to the complete library of all 99 episodes of the original Animaniacs, as well as Pinky and the Brain, the subsequent Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain, and the complete Tiny Toon Adventures collection. All are available for streaming beginning today on Hulu.

I loved this show. And yes, I'll be watching Animaniacs and Pinky & the Brain tonight.

Hello~ nurse!

one of the most fun watch back in the days. all the in jokes and dirty humor are just fantastic and I'll look forward to it's return.

Could work, as long as the writers remember what made their old writing stand out so much.

It can't possibly be worse than the Powerpuff Girls reboot. As long as they still perv on the nurse, it'll automatically be better than that at least.

you can't put a price on sparks
They really have to hit on the good stuff of the show to make it any good. The animation and voices really matter to me.

There were some jank episodes of the original show, I guess towards the end when the budget got cut. Or maybe earlier eps.

Tiny Toons would be fun as a reboot. Or freakazoid

The PPG reboot is so bad because of the writing team for it. None of the original writers are working on it and the creator, Craig McCrackin, wasn't even told it was happening until it was first revealed to the public. If they can get at least half the original staff, it can work.

Quotes from the press release are filling me with dread.

"I am so pleased and proud that Animaniacs will have a home at Hulu," Spielberg said in a statement. "Together with Warner Bros., we look to bring new audiences and longtime fans into this wild world of Yakko, Wakko, and Dot. I am also excited that the full library of Animaniacs and Tiny Toon Adventures episodes are included in the deal."

"We cannot wait to work with Steven Spielberg and the entire Amblin and Warner Bros. teams to bring more sketches, catchphrases, songs and laughs from the Animaniacs to kids and adults everywhere," Craig Erwich, SVP of content at Hulu, said in a statement. "Now one of the most beloved, inventive and funny animated franchises in history, Animaniacs and its cast of witty characters can live on, on Hulu. This marks yet another big move for us as we continue our efforts to be the No. 1 streaming destination for premium animated content."

"Yakko, Wakko and Dot have been waiting impatiently inside the water tower, and now their hilarious brand of animated chaos will be unleashed — again! We're incredibly excited to be partnering with Amblin and Hulu for new episodes of Animaniacs, filled with endless laughs — and ongoing plots for world domination by Pinky and the Brain," Sam Register, president of Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series, said in a statement. "Parents who grew up with the cartoon now have new episodes to share with their own families."

And there it is.

Hulu exclusive. Yep. I am out. Bring Dark wing duck and we in business. But I figure it will probably be exclusive to Disney streaming service. All of a sudden everyone is running their own thing. I was so hyped for young justice 3 but then it was announced it was exclusively for WB new streaming services

You already know it'll be bad.

I'm hoping for the best. I don't see anything that makes me think they're going in the wrong direction here.

Are kids shows today as...clever as they were back in the day with adult jokes? Is there a modern day rocko's modern life?
