They took Gurren Lagann off of Netflix a few months ago :(

Baccano (Netflix)
FLCL (Netflix)
Hunter x Hunter (Crunchyroll)
Durarara (Crunchyroll)

A lot of great stuff has already been mentioned, but I'll throw in another vote for Usagi Drop (Crunchyroll). It may or may not be your cup of tea, but I highly recommend it. There are only 11 episodes, so it won't take long to get through. It's a very heart-warming show, with beautiful art and music.

Dude, get on Gintama. You're playing catch up with a great show, thank me later.

If you have time you should probably check out Samurai Champloo, Baccano! and Monster.

I was thinking of Baccano!, but I honestly don't know if it's on any of those online streaming sites.

Gotta chime in that Hunter x Hunter is pretty great. New arc is so freaking awesome.

I've been enjoying Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, although it was a little hard to follow at first.

I really enjoyed Tower of DRUAGA.

The first episode is a joke episode, it starts on episode 2. But it's really a cool case of what if a dungeon crawler video game was turned into a real medieval way of living for people.

I keep meaning to watch this series; so which comes first in the series, Tower or Sword?

I don't know if you can see this on Netflix but you can watch the 1st season on Funimation's Youtube.

Ah! My Goddess Season 1 and 2

I don't know why people don't talk too much about the TV series but it's actually a decent show. The dub is actually very good for most of the characters in the show. Would recommend to watch only the 1st season first to see if you like it.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

I just recently bought this on DVD (finding Set/Part 3 for sale at a reasonable price was very hard *sheesh*). Bought the art box w/ Part One from Amazon for cheap because the Complete Collection was getting all sort of negative reviews so had to get Part 2 and Part 3 editions. Anyway, I've seen up to episode 9.
Episode 8.... the FEELS!!!! Wasn't expecting that event or at least not for it to happen so soon into the series.
Anyway, can't wait to see the rest of the remaining 17 episodes :-) aka I also recommend watching this series as well via Netflix

Watch all of Slayers, it's on Netflix. You'll enjoy it.

Slayers was pulled from Netflix streaming a few months ago. :(

My family enjoyed SGT Frog, which is the Funimation release of Keroro Gunso. Really good dub, and pretty damn funny.

We also enjoyed Tears for Tiara, which is a charming anime based on an eroge game. The sex is gone, but the roots are still pretty evident from the character designs.

Enjoy it, man. It's a wild ride. Sometimes I wish I could erase it from my memories just so I could watch the whole series all over again for the first time.

I hate hate hate that I can't watch anime in japanese on netflix.

I felt like rewatching Soul Eater a little while ago and had to turn it off within 2 minutes due to the shitty dub that show has. Talk about a production that just didn't give a shit when it came to puns or visual gags.

Monster
Fullmetal Alchemist
Soul Eater
Elfen Lied
Samurai 7
Gurren Laggan

All of these are great. The first two, you absolutely have to watch.

I didn't know Soul Eater was on Netflix... I bought the blu-ray. haha. I'm actually a little disappointed in it so far, I'm 5 episodes in. Its a little goofier than I expected it to be. I should continue though, right? I'm only watching Soul Eater and Sword Art Online right now. I want to get into Gintama, we'll see.

Yes, keep watching it. It is goofy but it gets better.

-Crunchyroll-

- Gintama - The best anime Comedy imo. You'll laugh until your face hurts.

- Squid Girl - More laughs, squid girl wants to take over the word but she's a hot headed dope who gets shot down most of the time.

-Netflix-

- Golgo 13 - The manliest man that ever was a man. He shoots people and has sex with women....then he shoots some more people and has sex with more women...next people talk about how much of a badass he is, and finally he shoots more people and has sex with more women. Thats it. Each episode is its own story too so pick any and enjoy. The over the top action and Golgo's ability to get out of impossible situations with ease make it a fun watch.

- Slayers - (if its still up on Netflix) - Classic comedy with great action. Also, motherfuckin Lina Inverse. She's what more female leads should be, smart, ridiculously powerful, and fully clothed. I think in the first or second episode she accidentally destroys an entire city and hilarity ensues.

Stein's Gate is up on YouTube. If you like time travel stories, it's an absolute must.

^ Awesome. Steins Gate is on Crunchyroll too. It starts a bit slow but once things are set in motion its just a sprint to the end. It's even better the second time you watch it.

Soul Eater.
disclaimer: you will hate the last episode. but everything up to then is pure brilliance.
super fun show. i can't stress enough how excellent the characters are.

Gankutsuou_24.jpg

Gankutsuou (aka The Count of Monte Cristo). One of the most fantastic TV shows I've ever seen. It takes Dumas' original story and sets it 3000 years into the future...and still somehow manages to be the best and most faithful adaptation of the novel ever made (to my knowledge). The animation is fucking jaw-dropping and looks like nothing else out there. The dubbed version on Netflix is also pretty good, as well. I really, really wish more people would watch it. Is there any way to convince Toonami to air it, I wonder?

Chihayafuru

Yeah I gotta recommend this too. Thought it would suck but a few eps in and it became one of my favorite shows.

On Crunchy I also recommend:

Hunter X Hunter
Bakemonogatari
Toradora
My Little Monster
Oreimo
Durarara
The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi
Ano Nastsu De Matteru
Star Driver

EDIT: Oh yeah definitely Stein's ;Gate

For Crunchyroll stuff:
From the New World
Chihayafuru
Fate/Zero
Usagi Drop
Hanasaku Iroha
Digimon Tamers
Fist of the North Star
Space Brothers
My Little Monster
Kids on the Slope
Tsuritama
Natsuyuki Rendezvous
Wandering Son
Digimon Adventure 02
Level E
Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Slam Dunk
Mysterious Girlfriend X

That should be a good starting place, at least.
