Ann Rice Has Died

Damn RIP, what a shit way to go. Anne's books left quite an impression on me growing up, and Interview with the Vampire is still such a great read.

Holy crap, RIP Anne.
I always enjoyed her take on vampire lore, the original trilogy were all great reads. I feel like it dropped off after that, wasn't a big fan of Body Thief or Memnoch.

Really enjoyed her vampire world. Made it to book 4 back in the day. And Interview with the Vampire is still the best vampire movie ever made.

Dunno if I agree with that. A lot of what she contributed led to the current lame vampires we have today. She forgot that fundamentally they are abusive monsters

Nah her books were the foundation for stuff like Vampire: The Masquerade. You can't blame retards to twisting them and making them sparkle in sunlight.

Rest in peace. Interview With A Vampire is one of my favourites to include the pale skinned bloodsuckers. As well as Queen of the Damned, even though most people hate that movie for it's cheesy CGI.

I enjoyed reading many novels by her, though my favourite remains The Vampire Lestat. A prolific and very talented writer. RIP

They're above us in the chain, we're their food. That doesn't make them abusive monsters anymore than we're abusive monsters for eating animals.

I did enjoy the world she created in my teens. I think that she wrote too many books and each one got worse. I agree with the above poster. I was out after M. The Devil. After that, I would see new books of hers over the years, but was never interested. I wonder if the audiobooks are good of Interview and Lestat……

Memnoch the Devil is still one of the oddest books I read as a kid. I had not seen the movie prior to reading it. I didn't know who any of the characters were. But it was a redeemed vampire meeting Satan (or a being claiming to be him), trying to depose God. What a story.

And she seemed like a genuinely kind person. RIP.

From my point of view the books were about the theme of immortality. As with many book adaptations a lot gets lost.
