Ozzy Osbourne has died

I was never a big fan of Ozzy, Black Sabbath, or heavy metal in general but it's impossible to deny his talent and the talent of the band he led.

It's gonna be weird to see this entire generation of boomer musicians and actors dropping like flies soon.

And actors and sports stars, etc. They'll come a time where not a day goes by without someone "famous" in the news for dying.

:messenger_pensive: Phill Collins and Clint Eastwood anyday now.
Fake edit: Collis is 74 but kinda sick.
Eastwood is 95!!!

I'm not shocked by the news because we all knew he was struggling with medical issues and yet I'm still really processing it because Ozzy's music has been such a major part of my life.

First introduced to Ozzy when I was 11 by an older Scout in my Boy Scouts troop who gave me a bootleg long play cassette with The Ultimate Sin on one side and No Rest for the Wicked on the other. My high school girlfriend was a Black Sabbath junkie (and took my virginity with Sabbath Bloody Sabbath playing in the background). One of the best concerts I ever attended during my concert-going days: Ozzfest 96 in Virginia Beach, where the shirts were all misprinted with "Virginia Beach, WV" (also last thing I ever did with aforementioned girlfriend before she went off to college and I never heard from her again).

I never cared for the reality show or the Jack and Ozzy show. But his music has been a staple in my life for 35+ years. Reaching the age where a lot of musicians I grew up with are starting to reach end-of-life ages really sucks.

Some of my fondest memories are going to Ozzfest with my friends back in the day. Had a chance to see him from the front row of the pit back in 2003. He threw a bucket of water on me and my buddy which was amazing because it was hotter than hell that day. I can still hear his voice screaming before he took the stage…."I can't fucking hear youuuuu!!!!" Legend.
Ozzfests were the best. Did 3-4 of them at least, as they came to my city each year.

That's more of an act. I'm even surprised anyone believes this farce.

🙄
That incident is actually real. The whole show was scripted as fuck but that moment was off script. She spat in her drink and threw it over her and the blonde girl had hair ripped out. Sharon was sued shortly after. Sharon is a firecracker and always has been.

"Following the feisty confrontation, Megan sued Sharon for battery and distress, while Sharon countersued, saying the reality star had assumed the risk and broken their TV agreement by suing. The case quietly settled in 2011 for an undisclosed six-figure sum."

These acts are falsehoods.

Because that's what they do in Mexico, as a means of boosting ratings and/or as a marketing strategy
or as a means of manipulation.

I'm not saying it; I'll give you an example where they do the same thing.

Yea it happens, but the Sharon Osbourne one wasn't fake. You can keep believing it though.

I'm going to the Ozzy bench at the weekend to pay my respects.

We might not get the bins emptied but at least we do this right as a City.

I think I saw him live five times, three times solo and twice in Black Sabbath during Ozzfest. He was terrible two of the solo times but was pretty awesome the year Metallica headlined the Ozzfest show. Sabbath shows were both amazing.

Most of his stuff was pretty meh imho, solo wise, but the stuff that was good was really really good. He probably should have ended his studio career after Ozzmosis.

Maybe I'll watch The Osbournes sometime, though I don't do much "reality" TV.

Hope Sharon makes it through ok.

She didn't look very good today.

Now isn't the time to talk about ozempic addiction / side effect but fuck me, that's real.

Saw him twice. It's weird, I felt it much more when Lemmy died but Ozzy and Sabbath were much bigger to music than Motorhead.

I'm gonna sound like a dinosaur, but I don't understand trying to record everything and possible missing out on the moment of the hearse passing by instead of just clapping or waving (or singing in this case).

I don't really know much about the Osborne's outside of glimpses of their show here and there but man the scenes of Sharon crying are heartbreaking. To think that's what awaits one partner at the end of a relationship is just awful, I guess unless you both go out together in a plane crash.

I watched the procession today and cried on my couch. Not much makes me cry but this did. Ozzy is a legend and the world is so much more shitty without him. As soon as they showed his casket and people throwing roses, I lost it. Sharon looked so frail, I don't know how she can even live on. That woman went through so much with him and still stood by him. I can't even imagine how lost she is right now.

I think her and Aimee have the same plastic surgeon, they have to cuz both of them had the same pulled back face and I don't recall Aimee ever being overweight so she couldn't have taken anything for weight loss and that pulled back look is usually a brow lift. She's the same age as me and looks like a grandmother. I hate to speak negative as I like them all and they are going through shit but yeah, her and Sharon did not look good at all. The sunken face look Sharon has is an ozempic thing but the brows is a lift.

I started my Ozzy journey by "sneaking" into my older brother's room to listen to his Black Sabbath records, the first four...And from those days, through my whole life, the guy and his music was with me. So it feels utterly absurd that he's now dead.
