Any opinions yet? I see there are a few reviews out, but none in english.
I've not played much yet, just completed chapter 1 of the campaign but I've been having fun. I would say if you like Anno games, then this is much the same and you'll enjoy it. The futuristic element was a bit of a downside to me honestly, but playing it, I've actually realised why they needed to move the setting to something different. It feels like Anno, but it feels fresh. Probably the most immediate negative I've felt so far is that it has lost a little bit of it's charm with the future setting, but that's possibly a personal thing.
The faction element, which I saw got ripped apart in a review of the demo, actually seems pretty cool and I'm hoping it's going to get more interesting and diverse as the campaign starts to open up. The meta-game vote system thing looks like it could also be pretty cool, but I've not really dug about too much into that to see what it's all about so much.
It runs nicely, no ctd or bugs yet. I didn't think the demo performance was all that, but retail seems to run better on my system at least. I have everything on highest settings and it's consistently at 60fps, with a few minor dips here and there (2500k@4.4ghz, 560ti).
From what little I've played, I would say it's got a lot of promise. If it stays the same as it is now throughout the whole game, I'd still recommend it to Anno fans. The campaign is structured as a drawn out tutorial like the older games, so I'm still getting handheld with very little open to me, but I'm hoping the factions get more interesting and the underwater elements are used well, which could give the old Anno formula a nice new layer of complexity and it could help to turn into something really special.
