Another "DS Jerk Off" Thread...

Hey GAF, long time no see...

Anyway, after much deliberation I decided to snatch up a DS at Best Buy (Mario Kart bundle FTW), and need recommendations and the like. Hey, even throw in some sales figures and whatnot, if it makes you sleep any better at night. Thanks in advance....

DS SEX PICS TO COME....
:D

Lol the pens gag is still going? Oh shit *looks at tag*....

Anyway, I should note that I already picked up VJDT, and that Animal Crossing is HARD AS ALL HELL to find..... :)

I didn't realize Animal Crossing was hard to find right now.. I saw some copies of it at Walmart the other day but decided to not pick it up just yet..

I'd say Phoenix Wright and Trauma Center though.. I've played both and really enjoyed them. Though I don't have a whole lot of DS games at the moment.

Animal Crossing was sold out at Best Buy, Walmart, Target and EB/Gamestop in the town I was staying at. I would continue the search around here, but alas I spent all my Xmas money, and don't have the funds to keep spending any more.

How much can I get for 17 pens and 2.5 cans of Axe?

Advance Wars DS.

You will be playing this game ... forever.
Nothing else needs to be said. AWDS is destined to be the best DS game by far until either Pokemon D/P or AWDS2, whichever comes first.

You will get the following:

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Sonic Rush
Advance Wars: Dual Strike (GAF Strategy GotY)
Final Fantasy IV Advance
Fire Emblem
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
Metroid Fusion
Metroid Zero Mission

GO, GO! FOR THE GOOD OF THE CITY!

Get it right. Its DS circle-jerking thread :/

PS; Buy real games like Castlevania and Advance Wars.
I haven't even played the DS incarnations, but from the GBA versions... I agree with this man.

Hmm.. I should probably pick up Advance Wars myself. Just a question though, will I need to play any other previous games in the series? (Just wondering since I believe there was a GBA one and what not..)

Nope, its like chess so you don't need to play any previous game, but it can help, and they are worth playing in their own right. All Advance Wars games have been absolutely tremendous.

Games that are personal must-owns

Meteos
Animal Crossing
Mario and Luigi RPG
Advance Wars DS
CastleVania
OUENDAN!!!1 <---- SERIOUSLY IF YOU ONLY GET ONE GAME...
Daigasso Band of Brothers
Phoenix Wright

Even if you don't buy these games now, make a list and buy them at some stage in your life. They are that good. If you didn't have a GBA, the list could triple....so I won't go there.

No Mario 64 love? =(

Mario 64 is pretty fun to to just whip out and play randomly like when you're out and bored. But yeah, it can wait. Unless you can get a good deal on it. Then I'd see no reason not to..

Do not listen to this heathen, it should be bought right after Castlevania and Advance Wars.
Stay the hell away from Nintendogs and Animal Crossing. Thats the best advice this thread will garner.

You don't need to have prior experience with the series in order to play it.

Heh.

But seriously.

JUMP Super Stars worth the import? Yes? No? Maybe so? :D

Yeah, I realized that sounded kinda weird. But then again, the only thing I /do/ have to whip out and play with is a DS so meh. :lol

I was thinking of importing JUMP Super Stars eventually.. But before that, I think I'd get Ouendan.

Advance Wars: Dual Strike (everybody's Strategy GotY)
Fixed.

The other thing you said, though...

...is spot-on. At least get Advance Wars, Meteos, and Castlevania before Mario 64.
I'd add in Animal Crossing too, but that's dependent on taste, and I can't recommend Phoenix Wright or Sonic Rush only because I don't currently own them, though apparently they're both awesome.

You don't have Mario 64 yet? Absolutely buy that right away. I assumed everyone bought it along with the DS. The greatest launch title in the history of the world, with extra content and a slightly less responsive control scheme? Seems like a no-brainer.

Dont listen to these bitches, do NOT buy Mario 64 DS. Its terrible on the DS. Dont buy jump superstars either, its not very good.

demi's games:

Mario Luigi DS
Trauma Center
Kirby
Polarium
Mario
Castlevania
Mario Kart
Phoenix Wright
Advance Wars

All you need

I'm being generous because Trauma Center is trash, enjoy it while it lasts, Trauma Tards

If you don't own Mario 64, wait for it on Revolution or buy a N64 and play one of the best games ever the way its meant to be played. Then play Zelda Ocarina of Time. If you played them already, I dont think Mario 64 is worth owning unless you get it bundled or extremely cheap. Every game mentioned above would be a better purchase.

Jump Super Stars is fun if you love animes. I do, and I enjoyed it and I'm not a fan of fighting games. Something addictive about trying to fulfil every task in every level to unlock every "card" and the fighting is fun if a little repetitive. But there is somewhat of a language barrier and you will be needing a translation guide. However - it did not make my list of must have games, all of which should be purchased before JSS! :D

*in my humble opinion

I don't think Advance Wars DS is the must-buy some people make it out to be. I mean yeah...it's a great game, but there are better games on DS IMO. And it's not a game for everyone. Personally, I prefer Castlevania: DoS and Phoenix Wright.

Okay, these threads are getting ridiculous.

Just make a long list that includes Advance Wars: Dual Strike, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Phoenix Wright, Mario Kart DS, Animal Crossing: Wild World, and stick it.

(Anihawk's choices are pretty good, especially since he seems to be an Intelligent Systems' whore like myself)

The fact that you didnt include Castlevania DS makes baby jesus cry.

I own Animal Crossing, Mario Kart and I just recently purchased Phoenix Wright. I love all of them.

My bro has Trauma Center, I haven't played it yet.

I also have Nintendogs, well I found it. I'm not recommending it, you know what it is.

OUENDAN!

Seriously, it's in the top 5 of my favourite games ever. I haven't met anyone who is not IN LOVE WITH IT. It rocks.

Meteos is your second buy.
