Another "DS Jerk Off" Thread...

I don't think Advance Wars DS is the must-buy some people make it out to be.

This is proof that opinions can be wrong!

This thread needs more OUENDAN!!!!

What if you are a gamer that hates navigating japnese (and generally things I can't read at all) menus etc? Should I still buy it?

YES!! You can't have a ds and not have Ouendan. It's really great and fun in every way.

It's fun if you like CRAZY WACKY JAPANESE things and enjoy listening to Jpop/Jrock, but if you abhor them I would pass.

Ouendan! Come on... I bought this game early August and haven't looked back ever since. What a wonderful game. If I only knew Japanese and see what the story was about. I'll probably check out Gamefaqs' some time to see what I missed. I got S rankings though on almost all difficulties after 5 months. Weird that I can get an S ranking on Ready Steady Go on the hardest difficulty (you know which one) but yet I can't get an S ranking the Dance site song. Err.

Mario and Luigi 2 is a good game, also. I hated Superstar Saga... I'll eventually have to replay it again because I just completely missed the point of the game, I think. Yet I adored Paper Mario 2. Weird, eh?

Oh yeah, Trauma Center is great fun too. Even the EXTREME!!! difficulty later onduring the game did'nt deter me from the game. I think I can beat the game tonight if I really wanted too. But Fire Emblem: PoR calls me. :O

Speaking of Trauma Center, I think Dr. Styles is a pretty cool character. I hope there's a sequel soon, with more variety in the operations as well.

Where did all the other circle-jerk DS threads go? I figure its better to bumb this one than start a new thread.

Here's my problem:

I'm looking to pick up 2 DS titles, but don't know which. I have Mario 64, Mario Kart and Advance Wars and I'm interested in:

Mario and Luigi 2 - I loved the first, more than the Paper Mario games.
Sonic Rush - I hear its good, but I haven't liked any of the other 2D Sonic games.
Castlevania - I still have the GBA games laying around, waiting to get finished.
Tony Hawk
Kirby
Viewtiful Joe

I'm interested in knowing what games would give me the most replay value (most of my recent purchases have been very poor in that catagory). I also want to know which games you guys would recommend avoiding.

WARNING: If I don't get enough replies I may need to start my own thread! :p

Oh and when did the WiFi USB Adapter begin selling at Best Buy?

I didn't know it was, but Bestbuy.com says a few of their stores near me has it. I thought it was a Nintendo.com deal only. I guess they changed their mind?

Of those that I've played on your list Castlevania is the one that I felt was the best. It's simply a very good Castlevania game and I enjoyed every minute of it . Mario & Luigi 2 is a good game, it's as good as the first one although I favor the Paper Mario series and its humour.
Kirby is quite a short game but fun while it lasts and should be atleast tested based on the odd control scheme.

If you really want replay value then Castlevania is the one to look out for. Beat the game and you'll be able to play in Julius (classic) mode. It's a really nice bonus.

I've seen it at local retailers here in Victoria BC. Futureshop and i think walmart has them too for $40 CAD. Unless your planning on bringin it with you to buddies places i'd just spend the extra couple bucks and buy a full blown wireless router, the usb dongle is near as much $$.

OUENDAN!!!1 <---- SERIOUSLY IF YOU ONLY GET ONE GAME... -haven't played
Daigasso Band of Brothers -absolutely
Phoenix Wright -agreed
That list is nearly perfect, but I added my own short comments. I still need to decide about Sonic Rush, but Mario Kart DS and Kirby Canvas Curse are other good choices.

Okay here comes my list:

MarioKart- Best one since SNES. Brings back so many fond memories.
Meteos- HOLY GOD. Probably my favorite Puzzle game of all time. So much fun playing with friends. I mean, who doesn't enjoy blowing up planets?
Advance Wars-If you played and liked any of the others then you need this.
Castlevania- yeah. Get it.
Kirby: I love this game, it is one of my favorite games of the year. It is lacking multiplayer, but it is my favorite use of the DS's technology.

About Jump Superstars. If you like anime/manga then I can suggest importing it. Especially if you have friends who own DS's. It has really good Multi-cart play. The single-cart is fun, but gets old. It works to convince people to buy the game though :) The fighting isn't SSBM but it is still fun. I also like how it uses the touch screen, even though it is simple.

-crazy j-rock song starts-

no, seriously... every DS owner should try this game. Even my non-gamer sister likes it (though she refers to it as boh-koo-een-dan)
