considering its 2005 and the game is STILL not complete, it probably would have sucked ass if they rushed it out 5 years ahead of "schedule".

The serious answer is:
The Nintendo 64 helped create the current multiplayer-FPS-on-consoles phenomenon. The Halo craze was born in large part from the Bond craze. Thus, had Nintendo actually had an FPS at launch then the GameCube might have garnered more attention from that crowd.
Of course, this is assuming that Rare could have actually done it, and they clearly couldn't have. They weren't even able to get Star Fox out at launch. This general lack of being able to do anything was what got them sold off.

Well, obviously PD0 would not have been ready for the GCN launch.
Maybe the better question is what if Perfect Dark, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and Sin & Punishment had been canned as N64 projects say in 1999/2000 and transferred to GC development?
If you had those games at launch and Nintendo didn't make a "purple" console, maybe they could have made a strong first impression with the GCN being a "different" kind of console (on top of the Resident Evil announcement).
That and the game would've had a much smoother framerate and a playable co-op mode.

i can tell you that i would like to see the supposed footage that Myiamoto had in one of the E3 a while ago......according to some Rare ex-developers it was stunning...........
