I think you got it right.
I was surprised when the little copper balls shot up too, but I would guess that the harnesses just kept them from being killed. There are a ton of ants, but I don't think that Pym wants to used them as suicide bombers.
Thanks! I was wondering,
"how are they levitating and how are the ants not hurt?"

Taking my daughter to it in a few hours. Anything inappropriate for a 6 yr old?

The main thing that's kicked the rating up is the use of language, there's a few 'shits' and the like. Couple of people and cute animals getting vaporised might be a little frightening, but it's all presented humorously.

The jokes mostly fell flat, especially in the second half, but I enjoyed the set-pieces and action sequences. Were imaginative, given the content.

Decent one-time watch.

They say "shit" a few times. Also (very minor spoiler)
something unfortunate happens to a lamb
. She should be fine.

So now for those that have seen everything, which phase was better?
Phase 1 (Iron-Man to Avengers)
or Phase 2 (Iron-Man 3 to Ant-Man)

While I think, that Thor - The Dark Kingdom is probably the worst MCU movie,
Iron Man 3, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Ant-Man and the great Winter Soldier win over Phase 1 for me. I like all of them more than any Phase 1 movie. Ultron is a nice extra.

I am not counting SHIELD and Agent Carter or the One-Shots in this comparison, but they would tip the scale for Phase 2 as well.

EDIT: should probably have asked this in the general MCU thread

Phase 2 is definitely better overall. Guardians of the Galaxy, Winter Soldier, Age of Ultron and Ant-Man raised the bar in quality and world-expanding.

I dunno...I felt Phase 1 was better. Mainly because the stories hadn't been done the way they were done, so it felt like the characters and situations from the comics were coming alive.

Phase 2, aside from GotG and Ant-Man now, just felt by committee.

Guardians, Antman and Winter Soldier pretty much make phase 2 memorable. I like IM3 but I like to think that as the true epilogue to Phase 1.

Thor 2, ehhh.

Phase 1 was great. World-building and establishing characters were done well, ultimately leading to the self-contained bubble bursting with The Avengers. I like that Phase 2 embraced that aspect and expanded further, but still having self-contained movies.

And GOTG was a huge game changer in terms of how committed Marvel is to the cosmic side.

A little lower than expected, but still great to see Hank & Scott take the top spot.

I told everyone in this very thread this movie wouldn't break 60 million OW lol! Not impressive at all.

Someone ask Feige when we're getting Ant-Man 2.

I wouldn't expect anything till 2021 at the earliest but Ant Man 2 seems unnecessary. He will take his role in Avengers B team with the rest of them the end of Civil War and serve as cannon fodder with plot armor in Infinity War Part 1 until the big boys arrive.

Realistically Falcon shouldn't of even had a chance but they are clearly underpowering him to fit with Falcons avengers.

Phase 4 is going to be weird as hell.

Nooooooooooooooooo I need a sequel

I took my seven year old.

As before mentioned there is one....gruesome death that is disturbing but it's not gory or anything.

There are some words, like "shit", "Bitch".

There's one part where a character talks about the first time he touched boobs that made me go O___O

There's a lot of pistols being fired, and two scenes with pistols aimed and held at someone's head.

The main character is also breaking into someone's place to steal something-if that might be a concern.

amazing movie, loved every second of it

microverse!

wasp suit!!

Michael Peña needs to be in more MCU movies
