I'm going to Atlanta for three weeks on Saturday? I won't have any free time while I'm there doing 12 hour days... but on saturdays and sundays I'll have from 4pm to explore. Anyone want to recommend some places to go and see? I might go check out that Tupac statue.

Go to the coke museum, the underground and hard rock :)

The airport rules! Eleven-50 in Midtown seems the type of club I'd go to when I make my way down there... they get a lot of big prog/trance DJs. Buckhead is the place for bars and restaurants, apparently. Also check out Martin Luther King's house, the CNN center, and Underground Atlatna.

MJQ on saturdays gets pretty crunk. Its on Ponce De Leon Ave. Great club with a great vibe. Eleven50 is alright depending on the night. Its on Crescent Ave. During the day, if you want to check out a good brazilian steak house, go to Fogo De Chao on Peidmont.

Yum.

Also the prog/trance music sounds fun.

Check out Little Five Points if you're into alternative music/clothes/what have you.

And of course Buckhead. We can make no promises about people being stuck on cranes (an Atlanta staple!), but it's a fun place to be. Just don't expect to make any decent time in a vehicle over there during the weekend evenings; traffic gets slow then.

Ugh, Buckhead. I can't stand that place. If you want a list of the worst, roughest bars in Atlanta, let me know.

Anime Weekend Atlanta starts tomorrow and continues non-stop through Sunday evening at the Cobb Galleria Center. Sucks that I can't go. =(

the first thing I try and do when I get here is buy a case of beer for my fridge. THe guy says, "It's sunday" and motions toward the beer. THen I say, "yeah... I'm not religious at all though." Then there was kind of an awkward pause and then he says, "You can't buy that today."

Wha whaaat? Ah well.

I was at in airport in Atlanta... and Ill tell you what I wanted to fucking slit my face. All the Falcons crap all over the place made me feel dirty.

You're lucky you even found a store that was open. Sunday, holiday, after 6 pm? The freakin city shuts down.

These places are jumping. Depending on what your grove is, De Jangos, Cafe Intermezzo, Strokers, Goose Bumps, Pin Ups, and pretty must the northern Buckhead strip are places that you don't want to miss. Traffic on Peachtree on Friday night, Saturday and sometimes even on Sunday will be a bitch.
