I'm here for a few days, and wanted to check out some import games. I know there's a place at Mission Valley mall that sells soundtracks and stuff, but I'm looking for one that actually carries games. Anybody know?
There used to be one in Mira Mesa and one in Bonita, but I'm sure that they're no longer there. You can always try Kearny Mesa/Clairemont as they have a lot of mom & pop stores that sell import stuff.
They did carry them last may when I was here last. I'll have to check tomorrow when I'm there. I bought some stuff from them before and it wasn't pirated, but I'll take a close look at the stuff before I buy.
Rising Sun used to sell a limited number of imports.
You should ask the guy who runs the place to consider selling imports again. He'll ask his customers if they want and if there's much demand for it he'll sell them again
The one in the Mira Mesa mall was pretty excellent. Been gone a long time, though. Now, there's an EB Games and a GameStop right across the street from each other *groans*
Seems to be the case everywhere I travel - all the import stores are gone. I was sad when Wanpaku in Torrance was gone, and I was really bummed to see that the last time I was there that Hyper Game Action (Which had a new name) actually had padlocks on its doors. Hell, they even had padlocks on the Neo Geo arcade machine's joysticks.
Hey Atari, are you planning on going up north (the L.A. area) during your travels? There's a dope arcade in City of Industry called Arcade Infinity that you should check out. Nothing but import Japanese arcade games!
