Any last minute predictions on how well Fallout 4 will rate critically?

97 metacritic. The usual hyperbole with Bethesda games.

I am saying somewhere in the 88 - 92 range.

Can see it getting some 7/8's from outlets who may look upon it as a prettier version of 3/New Vegas. On the flip side I am pretty sure one of the big sites (IGN, Gamespot etc) will give it a 10.

95 if the bugs are minimal, 90 otherwise. I'm more optimistic about the bugs because I wouldn't be surprised if they finished development before E3 and just have been looking for bugs/ and planning for dlc since then.

Higher than it should

Both in user score and professional scores

Unless it's broken for real and not general Bethesda broken. it'll be higher higher because "it just makes me think wow the ambition is so high that the engine can't keep up this is inspiring"

Where are people getting low 80's from? The last 3 games they've made have been gigantic successes in both reviews and sales. If anything they've probably been given a much bigger budget after skyrim.

wow , this game pretty much comes out tomorrow... I predict, with the new engine it will scope in the high 90s. The moment I can embrace that game can not come soon enough...

Probably higher than it really deserves. seeing as it is an open-world bethesda title that still runs on Gamebryo.

I'm going to say 89.

Same as Skyrim 90+

then....

moths later people will finally get of the hype cycle and deconstruct the game and once again see through the polish and once again see the lack of talent Bethesda usually hide.

It'll probably do in the 80-90 range. Then days after people will buy it and find all of the bugs in it because it's a Bethesda game.

Negativity on this thread is surprising.

It'll be a bug-fest and it'll still manage to score 90+.

You're not wrong, but New Vegas was literally one of the worst launches I've ever had the "pleasure" of experiencing, and it's still one of my favorite games ever.

Witcher 3 too: full of bugs, but an outrageously good game.

Give me the jank! I loved Skyrim and FO3/ NV, never had any game breaking bugs and over 100 hours in all 3. Some funny bugs and mods made the game better. My guess is 93 Metacritic.

Witcher 3 too: full of bugs, but an outrageously good game.

Also this. I had to download 2 10GB updates for the Witcher after the 45GB install! For us Canadians that is a lot of bandwidth

Whatever score it gets, it will be overrated...

It will make Witcher 3 look like the best RPG SP launches ever :p

Do we know when the embargo lifts on this one?

I expect less bugs + better gunplay (and tps) + meaningful side quests = 94 metacritic.

It sounds like they took their time with this one and got finished with content early so that the game could be tested for a while.

I expect mid 90s at the lowest, unless the game just stinks too much of Fallout 3 and doesn't do enough new or ambitious in its mission design.
