Their return policies on videogame systems has always been exchange only. Has that policy changed since the launch of the PSP? Do they now say "exchange only, except when you are exchanging for dead pixels." ?
You MIGHT be able to find a new 1.5 PSP. But you're pushing it if you want to return it due to dead pixels. Even if you wanted to exchange it, getting another 1.5 model might be tough. Good luck though.
I just stopped at a Gamespot earlier today ... I believe they had 1 original launch unit - the rest appear to be new revs.
I actually asked the guy about dead pixel returns, and he claimed 'you'd have to take it up with Sony'. Though before I asked specificly, I questioned the general return policy, which he said was 'exchange for same product'.
Interesting change of tune ... must of been A LOT of dead pixel returns :lol
