My flash (macromedia) doesn't seem to work properly. Embedded flash menus on websites aren't clickable and it sucks. Anybody else experience this?

yeah, though wherever a flash should be I got the firefox puzzle piece. Click that to find the plug in, and the install fails. Same thing happens with all quicktime and the rare java. Firefox is really pissing me off.

Oh yeah, and I should have added. There's a manual installation option, which takes you to that site. I install it, and it actually brings me to the "Installation was a success" flash. I go to another website, boom, stopped working again. Likely to work for Fatalah though.

I think, and I'm not totally sure about this, that in order to get Flash to work with Firefox, you just have to have NPSWF32.dll in your C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\ folder. I think if you do it manually, it still works.

if reinstalling doesnt work youll have to delete your profile and then install stuff from scratch.

Huh. So I did the backup of the bookmarks through exporting. I uninstalled. Then reinstalled. It took it off my pc, then on reinstall, I open it, and everything is the same. Like it never left. My bookmarks and such. So I click into GA, and I try to check out the plug-ins. I go to the "NoOOOOOooo" thread, and try a quicktime. Boom, same problems. Missing plug in. Do the whole install thing again, same problem. It's straight ridiculous. I don't get it and it's seriously pissing me off. *sigh*

Did you uninstall Firefox or did you kill your profile? You want to try to kill your profile, and then create a new one and reimport your bookmarks. For obvious reasons, the uninstaller will not kill your profile. You have to do that manually or go through the profile manager.

Instructions on finding your profile can be found here:
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/releases/1.0.4.html#profilefolder

After you delete your profile, reinstall Firefox, and then open it up. That should make a new, clean profile. Then you can put your bookmarks back.

BTW, if you want to save more than just your bookmarks, than you can also save these files from your profile folder:

# bookmarks.html — Bookmarks.
# prefs.js — Current user preferences.
# user.js — User-added preferences (overrides prefs.js every startup).
# cookies.txt — Cookies.
# hostperm.1 — Cookies permissions, image permissions, and extension website install permissions list.
# signons.txt — Saved passwords. Requires the "key3.db" file to work.
# key3.db — Supplements password file.
# cert8.db — Needed for key3.db file
