I didn't start watching this show until a couple years ago, way after its prime I guess, but I really enjoy it. It was a trend setter back in the day and does a lot of risque things for network TV .... imagine my surprise to see the hot chick police officers bare ass on network TV.

Sipowitz is a bona-fide badass, and the show has really set up all the other more popular shows like CSI, CSI: Miami, and so on.Anyone else going to miss it?

I watched the first season in 93 and loved it to death. Then I watched season 2, stayed after Caruso left, and then watched some of 3 I think but I just couldn't stay into it anymore.

Is Caruso the lead guy on CSI: Miami?

i watched NYPD blue from the beginning up until jimmy smits left... great show, but i just sorta lost interest. I guess I should tune in for the last few, really have no idea whats been going on in the show though.

The problem is that they've got Zach, but no Mr. Belding. You can't have one without the other. That's probably why the show is going off the air.

I enjoyed the show over the years, but I kind of got tired of it and got out of the habit of watching.

I suppose I care enough that I'll watch the ending.

It far and away used to be my favorite show on TV. Wonderful writing, great characters if a bit unbelievable as NYPD detectives, very human touch to everything. And they kept coming up with fresh, interesting storylines.

Then Smits left, and Schroeder's character was just weak. For me, it was really when Fancey left that I lost all interest. Fancey was a very underrated, fascinating character, IMO the best written one on the show. After a while they kinda turned Sip into a performing chimp, but Fancey was always on point..

The newer episodes just seem shellacked with the same glitzy forumlaic copshow verneer that onetime interesting shows such as Law and Order now have and CSI is nauseatingly replete with.

Also some of you smoke crack. Caruso's is far and away a better character than Smits's, and I really like Jimy Smits. Caruso is the quintessential New York Irish cop.

My dad cares. I do not.

Yea.

I was always a Homocide kinda guy. I don't even remember if that's applicable or not, it's been way too long for me to remember when they started. I think I tried to watch this once or twice and was rewarded with a bit helping of Sipowitz's ass. No thank you.
