Yeah it's all sorts of awesome. The film transfer looks really good, and the visual additions really add to the feel of this Utopian nightmare.

The American Zoetrope documentary is great and gives some background on Lucas, Coppolla and the rest of the gang.

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated
Been awhile since I've seen THX 1138. An R-rated Lucas movie seems so...odd these days.

Just finished watching it.

Holy shit was Lucas ever a genius of composition in that movie. The long lens photography and wide shots are gorgeous. There are so many beautiful shots but the one that really caught my attention was a telephoto shot down the driving tunnel when the car burns around the corner ouf of focus and in the background and the heat haze is distorting it.

The lighting in the film manages to escape the gross look of most movies of that time. There are many shots in the beginning with highly luminous and warm lighting that makes the movie look contemporary.

The extra footage and additional effects all works really well too. Only 1 or 2 of the new CG car shots look out of place with the rest of the photography in the film. Had I not known before hand that they were added I wouldn't have been able to tell the differenece.

As far as the R rating is really isn't deserved. The version of the movie I saw about 8 years ago on CBC had some full frontal nudity, this version is missing it.

Do yourselves a favor and see this movie!
