oregon is too fucking stupid to approve a tax that would bring more money for education. how many times has that been voted down now just so the people don't have to pay sales tax?

whatever you do, don't come to Vancouver (the Washington Vancouver). Stay in the northern part of the state (where I will hopefully be moving to in the next few months) and you should be fine.

I grew up in Spokane, moved all around the country until I finally ended coming back to Washington and bought a house in West Seattle near Alki Beach. The traffic here fucking stinks. This is, hands down, the worst US city to have to make a commute in. Seattle is like Mecca for retarded drivers so if you can't fucking drive, you've passed the Seattle litmus test. Just make sure to make to drive incredibly slow for no reason or child killingly fast and make several unexplainable stops in the middle of the freeway while talking on your cell, drinking your latte, reading a book, and steering with your shins because if you don't the state of Washington will be forced to revok your license.

We don't want any drivers with a brain on our streets, thank you very much.

Herr Stolen Potato is right; we have the worst fucking drivers on the planet. It's mostly all the California and Midwestern refugees who haven't figured out how to drive curvy/hilly/rainy roads, and who drive cars too fucking big for Seattle's narrow streets.

I like the northgate are. It's still in seattle, and has easy access to the freeway (that you don't want to take monday - friday) to downtown seattle, has a crappy mall (oldest in the world), but it's close to a creek where I used to smoke weed on a bridge there when I was young. Northgate has the best doughnuts ever (Countryside Doughnuts). I lived in Northgate for about 4 years before moving in with my parents to Brier (north of bothell, south of Lynnwood), which is boringsville.

I grew up in a part of Tacoma that became Lakewood. Moved to NYC to attend art school and have been here ever since. I still miss Washington, at least when I first come back for Xmas. But two weeks later and I'm jonzing for New York. Though I do plan on moving back to "settle down".

Nice to see some Washintonians around here! Oh and Bellingham does indeed suck.

And do they still air Almost Live. I loved that show... though I was 13 at the time.

Fellow Eastsider here. I have to agree with the whole Bellingham and Kent = not good bit. Redmond, Bothell, Issaquah, Kirkland are all good places.

I'll tell you what I tell my friends that want to move to WA. Washington is a beautiful wonderful place. You got the big city, ocean, mountains, lakes, a ton of stuff to do. One of the best places I've lived. However, you WILL pay for it...heavily....through the nose...

Yeah, my main reasoning for moving back home was the cheap prices, which have been rapidly dissapearing the past 10 years it seems.

Highway 18 is apparently one of the deadliest stretches in the entire United States.

After being born in Auburn and spending college in Parkland and Ellensburg, I call Queen Anne Hill in Seattle home. There are some nice neighborhoods in the city itself, such as Magnolia, Queen Anne, Ballard, Green Lake, and Wallingford, although you may not get a whole lot for the money you're willing to spend.
