Voted both. Neither are near my favorites, but both have deep catalogues with at least a few movies that everyone is bound to enjoy. Props to Hanks for helping bring us Band of Brothers.

I'll trade all of those and throw in an additional 90 Will Smiths for one Morgan Freeman.
Throw in 10 goats and a laptop and we have a deal.

Random sidenote, but Tom Hanks should've won an Oscar and every other award just for those last couple o' scenes in Captain Philips.

Also, for anyone who thinks Denzel plays Denzel a little too often, check out Roman J. Israel, Esq. (2017). He switches it up quite a bit and it's one of his best roles imo. Also, Colin Farrell is brilliant in it too.

Tom Hanks was mostly consistent in providing quality work and feel-good films.

Denzel, on the other hand, especially after the age of 35, started taking more wild swings for those random home run roles that would stand out because of how captivating, powerful, or different they would be. Because of that Denzel provided higher highs even if he had lower lows sometimes.

I really liked his recent Macbeth movie for this very reason.

I have to go with Denzel because of that.

I want to give it to Denzel because I don't like Hank's politics (i.e. I'm biased), but I have to give it to Hanks.

For that reason its really 2 votes for Hanks. Denzel has some epic films too though, so its close regardless.

I think it's partially because a bunch old Academy fogies voted for Gladiator across the board in the 2000 Oscars, due to Gladiator being a big epic like the Ben-Hur they grew up with.

Gladiator is awesome, btw.
